I HATE OS4!!!

Im getting an annoying problem with mine.

When I have like 4 lines of apps open in the multi tasking dock and i just carry on pressing the kill icon my whole iPhone freezes and I have to do a hard reset, and this is on an iPhone 4! :(
My iphone 4 does this, my 3GS did and my colleagues 3G too. If you leave it 30 seconds or so after it has 'frozen' (even though the icons continue to wiggle) it reboots itself

Remember unless you *backed up* the Blobs you aint rolling back apple got you right where they want you :D

For those with a 3G running iOS4, if you go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and then uncheck everything in there and restart your phone it's supposed to speed things up by quite a bit, and anything is worth a shot right now.

This made a vast improvement for me.

Loading the SMS app is about 2s down from 8-10 seconds for me now.

Mines a 3g and it downloaded and updated it on it's own accord

Out of interest, how did it do it of it's own accord? I have synced my 3g a few times and it never tries to update, I can't get a 4 until January and if I need to take countermeasures to make sure I don't end up with OS4 on my 3G I will...

Spoke to o2 today and they acknowledge problems generally with the 3GS too so they are sending me another one

Who can I complain to about my 3g? Since os4 it crashes, call quality is crap and the battery drains quicker than ever. Not in contract with 02 much longer but they are not interested in m complaint as I bought the phone payg fomr them and use a simplicity contract!

Not a lot you can do mate. until apple allow people to downgrade you are scuppered with the slow, unresponsive brick you currently have.

At least we are not alone in this plight

You can downgrade if you wish. It's not very difficult at all.

Download the 3.1.3 firmware, then do restore by choosing the firmware version. (Hold Shift (windows) or option (mac) while clicking restore allows you to choose version)

Once it has finished the device will be stuck in what is known as a recovery loop. Follow these instructions to get it out of that. You're done.

The only downside is that you will have to set your phone up as a new one.

Tried that mate but i have 64bit operating system and getting LibUsb working for it is just a nightmare. Seriously tempted to stick a 32bit OS on a virtual machine just to get my phone back to 3.1.3, bit of a faff though.

SHSH blobs?

I've never done that and downgrade worked perfectly 3 or 4 times during the iOS 4 beta.

When I JB'ed my 3G with Redsn0w I set it up for multitasking... that was the death of the phone. Even with it now turned off it runs like a shed.
