I graduated a few months ago and have recently started working full time on a temporary basis. I was working at a call centre for a company who asked me a while ago if i wanted to do a bit of web deisng work for them.
Obviously i agreed and now they want me for the next few month (until i go travelling)

Anyway, today I worked from 9-6. Got up at 7.30 and got back at about 7. As i walked home i saw people dressed up as pirates and playing drinking games in their front rooms. I heard one lad say to his mate 'ive only got 2 lectures anyway'

Now I understand why people hate students so much. Its because its so amazing to be one! In my first few years i didnt really have to bother about work that much and in the last year i was only in uni 2 days a week with a total of 6 hours (4 of which i went to!) I studied hard when i needed to and passed my couse with a 2:1

At the moment im in the same student house ive been in for 4 years, working all the time with slightly better pay than i was getting (£7 hr)
Great that im working by people who have loads of experience though

Cant wait to travel and hopefully find a job where you dont have to work stupid hours all the time

oh, and when i got home the lad who moved in on sunday has moved all his stuff out again. Seems like he couldnt take the lack of central heating and hot water im used! (hot shower still works)

I do too, and I still am one. Currently I'm on 12hr+ days, having to be in for 7:30 - 8:00am, yet every night without fail the ****s next door (who are freshers at the nearby poly-come-good that is UCLan) get in from a night out at 2:00am and party loudly for the next 2 or 3 hours. Allowing me a max of about 5hrs sleep a night (split in half to make it all the more unbearable)

Took my sister up to notts as she is just starting. With her window overlooking my old hall it brought back some memories from the last 4 years, and boy were some of the 2nd year hall reps HOT !!!!111111........

Now i know exactly what she is doing this week, and exactly how it feels being a fresher for the first time. I get sad every time i think about it and wish i could do it all again.

Ive nearly landed myself a job so earning a good wage should get rid of the sad thoughts.

I only have 12hrs a week, but I plan on getting 100% in everything so I'll be spending a lot more time working than that.

im in uni from 8- 6. mon wedthu fri/ 3 lecturs and tuesday 2 lectures.
3x 3 hr labs , 2 tutorials , 3hrs study a day.

About 20 people I know have all pledged to do similar, but then they all said the same thing last year :p

Still, good luck.

I studetied for 1 yr, loved it but didnt do any work. Dropped out started own business earn over 1k a week on a good week.

Cant complain tbh but my GF is back in uni on a masters and going back up there does give me pangs of nostalgia, however now i get both sides, lots of money plus living it up with students when works quiet. THATS livin!

Yeah I've said it enough times myself :o

No more underachieving for me though, I am sick and tired of it.

12?! That's lucky.... well, I thought it was until I looked at mine. I've just completed this semesters timetable as I only got my optional/subsid modules sorted (though I haven't put my two subsid modules on here, so it's prob about double :/). Everything I wanted to do was full, so my final 10 credits went on a language. Even most of them were full, so I'm doing Italian

I'd remain a student forever, if I could. A mate of mine who is on my course albeit a year ahead is in his 40s and considers it his retirement plan after his PhD. etc. I just love Nottingham's campus. It's like being elsewhere.

Haha, me and a few mates have pledged to spend 1 hour in the library each day, reviewing what we learned in lecture/seminar. I see this lasting a total time of 2 weeks maximum.

I'm in a similar boat. I graduated this year and am now working full time. I go for my dinner break and see all the students having a great time I'm just so jealous. I want to sit there all day and all night drinking too and having a good time.

I just feel that I should be out there having a good time and enjoying my self while I am still young and not gazing into a computer screen all day wasting my best years away. I simply can not believe that this is the way my next 40+ years should be lived and refuse it to be. I plan on saving up a nice nest egg and ******* off for a while, just depressing that I still have to miss out on things in the mean time. :(

Thats what I feel like. Surely theres no point in working 10hr+ days or whatever even if they money is extremely good. Your going to end up wasting 10 years of your life and you dont have time to spend your money really anyway.

At the moment, live for the weekend starts on sunday night for me!

im in 3rd year....i was thinking..when i graduate, go back home and get a job for 1 year, save up, then go back to uni and do another course for 3 years :p
