I hate students...

I’m in my 6th year as a student. Im not sure how people can say being a student is easy, also not sure how other students find the time to go out and drink. I spend 90% of my free time doing coursework. Never really go out anywhere ...there’s just too much work.

Same, and im a student. Its people who do doss courses that have made people like me who do REAL degrees have to pay all these darn fees. Amount of people that i see/know who barely do any work or turn up for lectures and still manage to get through the first year. Universities just aren't strict enough....40% is the pass mark for a module. Wtf is the point in that? It means you know less than half of the content of the module and you can still go on to the next module/year. Sure its more pressure, but thats what half of the students need. A kick up the a***.

I know exactly how you feel. On my placement year at the minute, with some mates who went straight into their third year. Hate hearing stories about parties they're organising/going to/being hungover while I'm stuck at work.

At least I get to go back next year, and I'm going to work hard, play hard :p

a lot of people say they had an easy time at uni. I raised my bar personally and set myself high goals, I really want a 1:1, but fair enough if people are happy with whatever.

I don't think anyone in the history of your Uni has got 100% of everything, so thats a bit of a far fetched aim!

I know, but if I start thinking like that I go into "meh I don't care" mode and I'm a chronic underachiever so that's a dangerous path. I figure I haven't really tried at anything in my entire life, may as well start here.

I'm off to do a Masters in Canada for 2 years when I graduate after this year (providing I get accepted of course), so I don't have to worry about the World of work for another 2 years or so.

yay, i'm a student just going into my second year at plymouth, so far enjoying it very much. Really don't want to graduate and get a job. i want to keep doing 2 hours work a day, and sleeping a lot, and going out more. i can totally understand why people hate us though.

Ahh uni.

You lot have it easy with 12 and 16 hours a week, In the first year I had about 32 and down to 25 in my final year.

You're quite right, 16 is easy and not what I have... I've missed out my two subsid modules, so on average it's much like yours. I realise that now I have not added in those two, looking at the spreadsheet I've made up.

Im on 8 hours a week now at uni :) Then probably double that training. And the rest in the library.

Its out the house at 6.30, back at 6ish, bed at half 9 :( Nights out are mainly weekends now :(

I do too, and I still am one. Currently I'm on 12hr+ days, having to be in for 7:30 - 8:00am, yet every night without fail the ****s next door (who are freshers at the nearby poly-come-good that is UCLan) get in from a night out at 2:00am and party loudly for the next 2 or 3 hours. Allowing me a max of about 5hrs sleep a night (split in half to make it all the more unbearable)

Simple solution mate, complain about it. Tell them it's unacceptable and tell them you will be reporting them to the council and informing the dean of their behaviour.
