I have never seen so many white people in one place

Anyone who isn't ashamed to be English, white and worship Corbyn is far right?

There's nothing wrong with being patriotic and proud of your country but there's a lot wrong with being nationalist. I'm just curious as to what people think actually defines being English as like I said, if you go back far enough none of us are really "English". Even fish and chips which most people would define as British came from Portugal and Belgium respectively or something :D.

I never mentioned Corbyn but I'm rooting for Keir Starmer as the next leader, he's pretty straight talking, personable, and appears to know what he's talking about.

Yeh nationalism is a religion or even cult, a common idea to pretend we are all in it together, one big family when in reality people are individual and personally accountable. At the end of the day any person will protect themselves first over any idea of unity, well the theory says that Christians are the exception.

The EU is nationalist also just a bigger group of people. Next it will be a united world.

We are just single-celled pond dwellers if you have it your way!

In my life time I have seen race become more, not less, of an issue in my society. Chiefly through the media focus on it and the efforts of those who think they are fighting racism.
My experience through my lifetime in this "white" country as a non white I have to disagree. Strongly.

Race segregation and racism used to be everywhere and accepted by the majority. Now it is the minority.

Don't let the media sway you.

You might be right. Thinking about actual racist incidents I am actually aware of, yes - it's gotten far better since the Eighties (which is the earliest my conscious tracking of it could begin). And statistically we are one of the least racist nations on Earth. So why is it my perception that we are becoming more and more racist as a country? I think you've put your finger on it - continuous media reinforcement that it is so.

Maybe the racism has shifted from Caribbean/British to Asian/British?

The US was still pretty racist in the 90's. I seem to remember we were in attitude in the 80's things all started to change in the 90's. Hard to remember now.

People feel threatened by change.

So why is it that 'white' people have this halo around their head like their some kind of superior being that criticism or whatever just bounces off their shield of valour like that.

Is it a martyrdom thing or have our schools systems just beaten us to a pulp over the centuries forcing us into a civilised state.
