No, I didn't really.
But I'm planning on going to Uni next year. Working it all out I'll be in near enough 20 grands worth of debt by the end of it.
My question is, why do you hear so many people saying "I just bought a PS3 and a widescreen plasma with my Uni grant, wooop!" How do they afford this? Say they got 6k for the year, 3k for living, 3k for the course, how do they afford to spend hundreds/thousands on that type of equipment?
Is it simply because mummy and daddy are rich/they have a job so can afford to eat into their loan? Or am I missing something.
uni students just waste money and waste their uni life really. Get themselves into too much debt and get things payed for basically for nothing. The true people are the people who work from school no matter what qualifications they have. The UK has gone mad. This is why I never will become a uni student. Anyway, qualifications for uni they give them out in christmas crackers now. Who wants to pull a cracker with me this christmas? might get a degree out of it?

Its all great until you realise you gotta pay it all back eventually anyway!
I know the current earnings limit is 15k and it may raise to 18-20k but then why would you bother going to uni if you dont aim for well over that as a salary!
I just about managed to live off 3k per year as a student. But I was lucky because my rent was only 46 quid a week. It was tight though. If my rent was any higher, I don't see how I could have managed other than applying to BOMAD (Bank Of Mum And Dad).
Or getting a part time job?
Some people think it's illegal to be employed and at uni I swear.
