I'm sorry, I never normally post threads like this. But this is the first game I've completed in a long while.

I'm ashamed to say that I had a slight tear in my eye at the end of it. :( I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but when Soap looks to his left, it made me well up a bit. :( The story line and game play from Act II onwards was just sublime. Such an intense plot, and the mission at the silo was just so good. I haven't played a game that not only ran like a demon on my 7600GT, but was so much fun. The first part was a bit boring for me.. I had to make myself play through the epilogue and act I. But the last mission you played as Jackson was so good. And from there on, it was superb.

I know a lot of people on here enjoyed the game, but am I alone in feeling somewhat emotional about the ending? :(

Not at all, the end for CoD4 was imho one of the best and most thaught out in ages, the other part that made me well up a bit was when the nuke went off and struggle to survive, you become so attached to some of the characters you want them to live.

Fantastic game, I hope they make a sequal or kick expansion asap because COD has been one of the best franchises to ever grace the pc.

I didn't really feel :( more of . I layed a load of bullets into each of the dudes heads.

But yer, thanks to Call of Duty 4 i have started playing the Call of Duty1: United offensive single player again.

The ending is extremely good. The last mission with Jackson also, as you said, is very well done. All the way through the game whenever one of my oppos went down I felt a little twinge of sadness :(

It definitely has something that no other FPS campaign mode I've played has ever had.

Well lets hope COD6 (awarded to Infinti Ward) is the same as COD4, because COD5 is WW2 based (nothing bad about that) but awarded to the same monkeys that made COD3 so probably no PC version.

What the hell?

Edit

Call of Duty 5 will be the fifth installment of the series (ninth, counting expansion packs) and was confirmed on December 2, 2007.[4] It is expected in to be released on christmas of 2008 and will be available on all seventh generation consoles, as well as on PlayStation 2 and PC.[5][6]

Phew

Yer sadly Activision have given the game title to 2 makers. Infnity Ward and some crap people who have joined on the bandwagon that is the Call of Duty series.

Basically COD 1, UO, 2 and 4 are made from Infinity Ward, which is also weridly enough the best games out of the series. :p
And COD 3 is from those crap people who are making 5.

UO wasn't by Infinity Ward. Just looked on Wiki, it was developed by Grey Matter and Pi Studios, it seems. Nonetheless, was a very good expansion.

The fact that it is being made for PS2 indicates the quality of the game to me.

I feel that through the game itself you get attatched to the characters as you get to know the other Team members by flashbacks and sorts. I was lost for words at the ending, sublime game as stated.

CoD4 was an awful game in my opinion. So many flaws...never ending, respawning, identical enemies, concrete walls you can shoot through and yet the "typical FPS barrels" are bombproof, tank proof, bullet proof. stronger than concrete them barrels. the ending quite frankly made me feel a bit sick and naturally came far too early. in fact the ending both ****** me off for coming too quickly, yet made me pleased the whole ordeal was over...que memories of one-night stands...

the BEST bit about the ending was the hostage rescue that came after it. by far the most enjoyable mission in the game and almost worth playing through 3 hours of crap

Ahh well thats 1 out of 7 million people who purchased the game that did not like it, doubt that will make Infinity Ward sad at all :P.

one of the best game's i've ever played. when i went back to complete the ending for the second time, i shot *the bad guy* (don't want spoil it) with all my rounds, then the two guards turned round and shot me while i was reloading :( it took the tension out the second time lol :)
