I just got flashed by a speed cam!!

Does their insurance cover you? If not I can't help but laugh.

They will get a letter, they will tell the police who it was, you will get the points. If you weren't insured (since you took it without permission) you may also get done for driving without insurance. Bye bye licence.

What the hell do you live in, the ghetto? My insurance hasn't gone up by anywhere near that with SIX points. :/

LCR with 0 points = £520
LCR with 6 points = £575

Mine went up £180.

My renewal was nearly doubled.

it covers me if i drive while working. but i will just say i was driving it home after work which will be ok. if it doesnt cover me then i have my own insurance anyway.

Nope. They've two weeks to send one out, IIRC. It can take as long as it needs to get there.

I think it's been 3 weeks since I think I got snapped anyway, but the van thinking about it now, in the back looked more like TV cameras, maybe it was just a registration plate check or something not a speed trap. Am I chatting crap here? Seriously looked like 2X Sony PD150's on tripods with both rear doors open on this van ???

Yeah sounds more like DVLA than police. Was it on an overhead bridge? I haven't seen them on the roadside but I don't see why they couldn't be there.

I have seen DVLA on the roadside of a dual carriageway. :)

Aye, saw one similar position a couple of weeks ago, had a camera by the car and had one of the mirror LED signs on the parcel shelf like the 5-0 have saying DVLA TAX CHECK..

It's dodge! = the spot where the can was parked after I've driven past it again has a dropped kerbed JUST leading up to where the van was parked, it's not a driveway or a house at all, and a metal post coming out of the ground like a power outlet, but not a telephone junction box or a meter, almost like a power outlet would be on a campsite, and the area where the kerb is dropped is that half concrete paved with those blocks that the grass can half go through.

not your average layby!

well nothing happened so looks like i got away with it and my license remains clean :):D

but yesterday i reversed into a car...i had loads of room and i knew the car was there but i wanted to see what a sign said and forgot about the car.. he came out straight away as well as i was driving away. theres a small crack just above the bumper. he was ok about it but reckons its gonna cost about £450 as they will probably replace the bumper, prime and spray and fit..

my supervisor was ok about it, im on there insurance so they will pay this time. his car was a r reg mazda 323 lx btw.

this wont effect my own insurance in any way will it?

14 working days to send it to the registered keeper, so in the case of the OP it can be longer as the reg keeper is his company.
