I personally liked lateralus, though I hear 10k is more of a throw back to undertow. So I wouldn't worry :p
 
The video is only about 30 seconds long and just loops through, but the track is the full thing!

I still think Tool have rehashed some of the chords and arrangments from schism. Definetly worth a listen, its wetted my appetite anyway. :cool:

I have discovered that myself... I listened to the 30 second clip to see if anyone had actually playe part of the song, and I listened to the video thing to see if it was the Real Deal but thats my listening experience over until I have the CD in my hand

They are using a similar technique to that which they used on schism, not the same chords - also, the arrangement for this track is more complex... (although I've only heard the first 30 seconds)

If that's anything to go by then, we're in for some treats here fellas. That was awesome :). Maynard's voice seems to have got a little huskier, and there's an APCesque chorus in there too which is nice. This track isn't a huge progression from Lateralus, but that's only going to be a problem for Penski I think...;)

Roll on the twentysomething of May.
 
I'm still not listening... People seem to think it's stupid to want to listen in context, but my main motivation is simple... I want to hear 'Vicarious' for the first time when I'm sitting at home on Monday at 9:24am, holding the new artwork in my hands and not feel any desire whatsoever to skip past it to get to the new tracks.

I can totally see your point Ice, and I don't think it's stupid at all.

I'm just happy to hear some new stuff from any of my favourite bands as and when I come by it.
 
Listened to the first clip, sounds absolutely amazing :)

Definitely seems to be a raw and heavy sound like Undertow.
 
I caved :(

On the plus side, it's absolutely amazing. I've only listened twice but it's one of the best produced things I've heard.
 
I failed miserably to resist, i can understand why some don't want to hear it yet, but i do, and **** me it's good :D I didn't think anything could beat the anticipation i had for With Teeth, but this has torn it apart :D

This simply re-affirms my belief that tool are a bunch of walking musical gods :D

Yes but on the upside we know how damn awesome the track is, just listening to it for the second and final time before i attempt to contain my sheer excitement and wait until the damn thing is released :D

I've listened twice, and I'm going to have one more then try and hold out to once a week until the album comes out :)

I really can't wait to see the video for this though, the lyrics are insanely good.
