they have more engagments than any one else on average around 2 a day.
Perhaps you should go read up on the work they do. That will change your mind. As there the hardest working in England. especially as they work till there dead.
Who else is going to do the work?
Who else are you going to train from birth to do the work and someone who is going to carry that worlkout until they die?
It's not a job you can recruit for. It makes perfect sense in the way it is presently done.

Well I for one am glad we're not a republic.
The might be born into but they Definitely work for it.
Most of the Males end up being in the Military and up until Recently they were out Serving(anyone know if harry actually did go?)
Would you like to have that Opportunity?
Personally i wouldnt mind serving in the Army, But i know a lot of people that would hate to and lots of people on here would hate it too

I'm just saying I think it's stupid they are given so much power without even having to prove themselves or earn it like everyone else.

Like i said, They do earn it. From the Day they are born they have to go through huge Routines and Strict Upbringings.
They have to serve normally.
they work there arse off every day.
Every day of there life they have people trying to get a poo load of photos of them.(unlike celebrities they cant choose not to become a famous and avoid it)
What about this Kids born into rich families? Should we take them away and put them in a Poor persons house?
Did they send him to Afganistan instead like talked about?
I heard he missed a meeting or special event today/Chistmas because he was out on service?
that's the thing though a person elected into office is just that some guy they chose to come speak to you, the queen etc is a descendant and thus holding all the family nobility and heritage of the people who ruled over the largest empire in the world, the person who your long ago predecessor once answered too, and so by many countries it is seen as a huge honour to be met by the king and queen of Britain. To be met by the PM is to be met by an equal, to be met by the queen is to be met by so much more, the stuff of legend and history, the people you read about in books as a child; it hold much more weight.
Also who's better some guy who's been doing the job for a few years or a person who as been raised to do it?
wonder how that must feel to make close friends with people and to expect and want to go and fight along side them only to be told you'll put them endanger and can not go, and must sit at home and read about them in the paper and think how when one of them dies or is hurt how you could have helped a or done something if you where allowed, or worse if you where out there and knowing that they had died because of you imply being there.

It's funny, Mephisto makes it sound like it's a song and dance to be a royal. Personally I feel sorry for anyone who is born into a royal family.

It was a shame that he couldn't bet sent, but in Iraq, a lot of the different terrorist groups were talking about working together to actually try and capture him. There were specific threats made to actually capture, not just kill him. If he had been captured, tortured etc, it would have been a HUUUGE victory for the terrorist groups. It is a shame he couldn't go, but I understand why.
I dunno capturing harry i think would galvanise the nation to a real war mood, i can see nothing more likely to inspire the nation to forgo the niceties and go in with full force house to house searching no more namby pamby reduce casualties and hitting them with everything we have than a queen obviously upset (but never tearful) appearing on tv telling the nation to be strong.
It may be a temporary victory but would result in a embassy siege like order to treat all insurgents as spies, they hold no rank no uniform no military position so are nto bound by convention, and mealy be interrogated then shot on capture.
