It's a 2006 Cooper S, 17,500 miles, Chilli pack, Heated leather recaros and probably a few other bits that I haven't noticed yet.

I'm sure that some will see it as a massive downgrade and I fully understand that. It's no Boxster but the reality is that I only do about 3000 miles per year as I cycle or motorbike the majority of the time so I don't need a £20k Porsche sat on my drive, this does me just nicely and fits my needs perfectly.

So far I'm loving it. It's a proper little go kart with just the right balance of practicality and fun for me. Time to start the modding...

£11k privately. It's probably a bit more than most 2006 cars but I really wanted the Recaro seats so was prepared to spend a bit more to get what I wanted.

EDIT : forgot to say that it has just come from a Mini dealer in September so it's got the TLC pack with another service or two free, warranty, 12 months tax (starting 1st March), MOT till end of September, breakdown cover, brand new tyres and all the usual crap you get when buying from a dealer.
The couple that bought it literally bought it on a whim and then realised that it simply wasn't for them hence why they wanted to sell after only a few months of ownership.

very nice, i could see myself enjoying one of these quite a lot. Whats it like in terms of steering feel and feedback? In fact I might try and get a test drive and see for myself. Although I've never had a test drive at a dealer before.

I like these my grilfriend's sister had a JCW one and it was superb on the back roads especially rapid from the top of 2nd gear through 3rd. I am suprised your's doesn't have a multi function steering wheel I thought these were standard.

For a FWD I think it's great. It feels solid and planted but it can get a bit twitchy on bumpy roads. Even then though it doesn't feel unsettled, it just causes the traction control to kick in now and again when driving hard. I'm off to Nurburgring in May so I'll tell you better then :)

I tried the supercharged Cooper S back to back with the turbocharged Cooper S a fortnight ago and much preferred the supercharged version, much nicer to drive.

Very nice.

Any reason you did not go for the JCW?

Basically just the fact that they're harder to find. I wanted a late model supercharged Cooper S and if I'd added JCW to the search criteria I could've been waiting months for one.

If one had come up with the right spec I'd have had it but I can easily change the supercharger pulley and have more than JCW power anyway.

Very nice, driven a supercharged one and they're loads of fun, I just dont get on with the driving position and interior.

Are you gonna vinyl this one up?

Massive speedo in the middle of the dash looks crazy to me. So much for being able to glance down to see how fast you're going :p

It also shows up on the digital bit at the bottom of the rev counter.

Nah, not this one. This one is my own car and nothing to do with Shakeaholic.

I might put the white bonnet stripes on though, quite like them

Cheap looking plasticy retro-gash. Nice paint colour ofc and I like the seats, but the rest of it looks like a Fisher Price toy. That and it's a girl's car.

Each to their own though :p.

P.S. I made you a new sig:

Should he have gone for a manly Golf 1.4? :D

As opposed to the utterly manly MINI?

Sorry, can't help but think its a terrible choice. But then I hate how they drive, feel, the crap visibility, the skittishness, the crap seating position... etc
