i need a website!

I use vidahost to host my websites.

I use the photocrati theme which is a great photography theme with good support and free lifetime updates.

Being the noob that I am, I use serif webplus for making websites. Really easy to use, pretty much drag and drop :)

Also, godaddy.com have some good cheap hosting packages :)

more reading suggests a worpress site is the way to go for me... photocrati looks nice but is $80 compared to the usual $30 for themes, I'll post a few choices up and let you lot critique

I'm with tsohost as well, can't really fault them. I was going to buy a Wordpress theme, but somehow managed to buy the html version instead, oops! It was dirt cheap though, and although you need to get more involved it's still straight forward. My website is here: www.encounterphotography.com Before any mods get upset, I should point out that I offer no photography services what so ever! :)

well.. domain purchased, hosting sorted, wordpress installed, theme purchased... and it all seems very very easy.

You can make me eat my words when it all goes wrong loading content

Well I'm watching to see how it goes as I might go and do the same. Where did you get the domain/hosting from?

Its a slow process, but i am slowly getting on with it.

I need to do a hell of lot of optimisation for slow connection (I fully appreciate the images need resizing and compressing)

I aslo need to work out how to better manage lightbox galleries... anyone know how to link to a lightbox gallery through a single image, rather than have all gallery images on the page?

be nice...

Seriously wow, not bad for overnight; which theme was that? I've got my eye on photorific but there's so many on themeforest to choose from.

cheers, thats probably 3 hours work so far. Adding images and galleries is pretty clunky but fool proof.

Theme is village. Kin looks nicer, but it only displays portrait
