sorry Nix, i really dont mean to be on your case, but you appear to be your own worst enemy. you have a half-baked excuse for every bit of advice someone has to offer you, and not being able to admit that you're not perfect and you CAN make a bigger effort to get a job is going to be the reason that you still dont have one in 3 months. the time you're spending posting on the forums now, should be spent rewriting your CV, applying for a job at EVERY SINGLE BAR/PUB/FAST FOOD OUTLET/SHOP/SUPERMARKET/RESTAURANT/CORNER SHOP...everywhere. if you're not doing this already, you're not trying hard enough.

i know it's easier to sit in your room being mad that you dont have a job, but it's better to get out there and do something about it.

i dont want anymore excuses because if you were doing all of the above, you'd have a job by now, or at least interviews. sending 3 CVs a month is not applying for a job.

nah dude, you're right. I am my own worst enemy. I've done a lot to try and get a job, you might be right about my CV, maybe not. I might have just been unlucky, but the union got back to me a week after I handed in my CV there. I just need to do more.

well, there's plenty of people in management positions on the forums. i'm sure if you ask nicely they'll have a sift through it and see if there's anything you can improve/change/omit. it wouldn't hurt to ask :)

hmm, I dunno. It's kind of a wierd situation atm is all. I need temp work in meantime just to have some immediate money which is why i've tried the agency. If that doesn't work, i'm considering asking my old job if I can work there for a couple of weeks before next term.

I feel the pain of being totally broke at Uni. I had a £600 (£200 quid a 'semester')loan to last my entire year, which didn't even cover 3 months rents. Fortunately I landed a job in a bar, still just as skint though as any cash I have spare usually ends up back in some other bar :D

Getting a job now would hardly be ideal given you have exams/courseworks due soon I'm sure, but squeezing 15-20 hours a week is probably more than adequete for you.

However it does open up new oppurtunties with some of the regular staff (i.e also students) perhaps cutting back on hours a bit to focus on their exams as well. I know that in our bar, we have a huge collection of CV's, few of which are ever really looked at, its all about luck and hitting the places at the right time - so if you've been somewhere a few weeks ago, don't be afraid to try again, if anything it shows your keen.

You have nothing to lose :)
