I passed my course!

My understanding is that if the baby is lacking certain vitamins or has a virus, the breast milk will adapt to the childs needs. This is something Formula milk cannot do.

so obvious that i asked for clarification...
wouldnt have taken a split second to put 'some' or 'most' :]

Definitely most, I was answering a question quickly as I had to leave to pick my daughter up from school. I can't look at the moment but I''m sure there are more in depth results from the study online, I remember reading something but can't remember where I read it  :)

From my understanding it was already widely accepted that breastfed babies were more intelligent than formula fed babies, I'm saying that impartially as well as one of mine was bottle fed and the other two breastfed.

Thanks everyone :)

Interesting stuff, didnt realise that breastfeeding a baby could yield those sort of results.

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe panthro may have meant "straight from the teat" vs "breast pump, then served in a bottle"

Actually I meant breastmilk vs formula, however, Im assuming that breastmilk from a bottle is a much better method than using formula?

Congratulations.

Now you're a certified Breast feeder. How many men can you get through an hour. Opps did I say men , I meant to say babies. :D

Is there anything online regarding the actual results? news sites are poor at giving the details it seems :/

Sounds like one of those "studies" where someone trawls through statistics and as soon as they find a correlation greater than 0.00 they say that x must be the cause of y. I never believe anything that doesn't have proper peer reviewed researched conducted by multiple parties.

And how could that possibly happen exactly? There is no way for the mothers body to know what the baby is lacking without feedback of some kind. It changes regardless after a certain time frame to provide the correct nutrients required for the next stage of development. However formula milk can be modified as required anyway.

Think people!
