I predict a Riot

The CBI has said we're going see growth for the last quarter of 2011 and won't be entering a recession. Makes me so glad to be British, looking at all this Greek malarky. We slam our politicians a lot, but they seem to be doing just alright compared to pretty much the rest of the EU.

When did they say this then, as the official figures for Q4 came out 3 weeks ago and it was a 0.2% contraction...

Greeks are idiots and frankly, someone needs to "go down" so everyone else gets together and makes real changes.

Greeks work to little, get paid too much, pay no tax, borrow more than anyone should ever have given them, retire to early and generally protest too much.

People protest change, because its change. They've taken it to the absolute extreme's but, when things are going well people take every last penny they can get hold of, and when things go bad, they refuse to give up the same things, people are idiots.

Borrow when things are bad, PAY OFF debt when things are good. The world is run on borrow when things are bad, when things are good, borrow more, wait for things to get bad....... be screwed.

People are just so completely stupid it's literally unbelievable.

When it comes to smaller personal debt some people get out of control but most people, if they end up 2k in debt, reign in spending, pay off the debt before spending more. Why can most people do this on a small personal scale but when it comes to public spending, government, etc, they just can't see it?

The seeming majority of Greek's have been living off other peoples wealth and hard work and don't want to now work hard to make up the difference, screw them. They refuse to change their attitude to their ridiculously privileged lives to this point, seriously. I can understand that changing lives and cultures isn't fantastic and they will be going from a ridiculously easy life to a harder one, but they brought that completely and entirely on themselves, if they won't face up to it, that is their own problem, not the rest of the EU's.

Let them at it, let them pretend they have no debt, let them live for a year without being able to borrow a cent, freeze all their debt, give them a year with no borrowing and see how they cope. They'll be BEGGING for help, in dire trouble and they'll be begging for the changes they are fighting right now.

Democracy relies on an informed, well reasoned electorate. Giving everyone a vote by dint of their existence, and failing to ensure that the burdens created by society fall equally, ensure that what you have instead are selfish people voting for things they want that other people should pay for...
Sad but true, you get the poor voting to get more money & the rich lobbying/bribing to get more money - neither group taking into account longer term sustainability or social cohesion.

Doesn't look like many Mochas will be served in there any time soon. :o

I didn't know Jimmy Tarbuck had started his own chain of coffee shops.
