I suck at UT3

Never run around a corner, always jump or dodge round.

But I also wish there was a stamina meter to reduce constant jumping.....

The principle to being good at UT is to be able to predict your opponents movement (ah, I see him dodging left, lets put some rockets down for when he lands) and anticipate what they will do next, then formulate the correct response in terms of movement and weapon. Of course being the aracadey shooter it is, the process happens in milliseconds, and accuracy counts for a lot because you die a lot quicker in UT3 than in UT2k4. The best way to improve is to play online against better opponents, or better still, spectate some matches and observe how the top players are moving. The dodge is your friend, as is the wall jump (some videos here: http://www.truetrix.com/).

Also an instructive place to look is at http://members.clanci.net/taleweaver/movement.php. Taleweaver wrote this guide for 2k4 and a lot of it still applies, with the exception of the dodge double jump. It should at least give you a taste of what is required to be a great mover in UT3.

Do you mainly play DM or do you also play WAR and VCTF, Threshold?

Start with playing UT then work your way thru 2003 and 2004 ;P the game just tended to get progressively faster as the series went on! I'll tell you what though I am pretty damn certain that the very first UT was the best! :) was quite frankly superb!

Oh and for some super fast reaction killing fraggin' just get Quake 3 Arena, god that game was a blast :D

worse thing is people hop around like psychotic bunnies online, halo 3 is a classic example on xbox live, all you see is jumping spartans everywhere, i play america's army online rather than UT3, limited bunny hopping and facinatingly addictive, and its free and due for a huge upgrade soon (to unreal 3 engine)

Just been playing DM at the minute. Baby steps methinks. Warfare should be a right crack though I imagine. Probably doesn't help that fact I got a razer Lachesis from OCUK same day I got UT3 so I'm trying to get used to two things at once :D
