I didn't enjoy Halo, unfortunately for me perhaps. I thought single player was boring, and I prefered other online FPS games. However, this was on PC so it was a way behind by the time it launched. The general consensus is that it is a fantastic game; even if I couldn't get into it I appreciate the appeal. Certainly, I would say more people think Halo > Metroid, perhaps because of the demographics of Xbox and GC.
I've only had chance to play a 10 hours (or so) on Metroid 1, slightly less on 2, and really want to complete them both - far more so than Halo. If Prime 3 has multiplayer like Hunters on the DS though I'll be fairly happy as I'm a bit of an online gaming virgin ( )*
* Although I've spent many, many hours on Quake II CTF and even more obscene amounts of hours on Icewind Dale lol.
Ideas in the gaming industry are extremely exhausted, nearly every game that is released now can be compared 99% to another game of its genre.
I agree with Miyamoto, I think any game designer, heck, game enthusiast could design a game to be successful like Halo, just look at what Halo has and copy it, put some hardcore amazing graphics in it, a big busty babe side kick and 128 player online multiplayer and you're all set for rolling in the dollar. It all depends on the bored, tired, lonely programmers and modellers and all that jazz who hoped for some creativity in their work but when games cost millions of dollars to make, there's no room for creativity, only mimicing successful games.
I think it's amazing Nintendo actually take risks like making the Wii.
