I want new GFX

Have to agree, were in 2008, and yet they are still churning out 2006 8800's, May 2007 2900's (which should have been out 6 months earlier, but were delayed), it is boring as hell, im well and truly bored with it, give us something new to play with ffs, take your 9 series/3870 series and shove em right up yer arse, we bought these cards back in 2006 and May 2007.:mad:

Nothing like a healthy rant to get it off your chest:)

I think something is wrong with your puter then because it doesn't do this to me.

What would that be? I have all services disabled that i can, no extra applications running, indexing switched off etc. It's absolutely a matter of Crysis precaching incredibly badly, it's the reason why the bench is done 3 times, the first one always really sucks as it's loading into the RAM, this is done live when playing and is really annoying.

Yup, same thing with doom 3 remember? :o

So then why does this not happen to me?

Too few games to justify a new card I think.

Need a ****load of new modern good games that can rly use more gfx power.

Ir doesnt happen to me either, in xp, the only load I can notice is at the complete start for about 5 seconds, but this has nothing to do with vram at all.
You can clearly see it loads from the hdd into the normall ram.
Keep task manager visible in real time on your 2nd screen if you can try that and see for yourself...

Sure, i know that, it's noticeable in the benchmark as well, there's an icon when it loads from HDD. But if this was a problem with me running out of RAM, well, i would run out of RAM, and i don't, watched the task manager plenty of times to conclude that. The only explanation is that somehow Crysis is really badly designed in that regard, and only loads the data it needs when an action is actually done, such as an explosion or anything, really breaks the gameplay. And it absolutely is a game settings/design things, using another config now which does not even get close to doing this, really really smooth.

I dont now, ive decided, time to get rid of all this crap, its not making browsing any faster, its all just going to waste, major downgrade tomorrow for me, been dead for about 14 months, im sick to death of the **** . :)

You can carry on churning out all your crap from 2006 still Nvidia/AMD, i aint interested no more.

Can I have your GT then :D ?

I would be willing to downgrade but not too much, 7800GT at least (I'm still a gamer...)...
But indeed no 8800's needed actually, but it's still nice to have them :D.

Downgrading graphics or whole system? And to which card? Considering earning a bit of cash off selling my GTS too, and moving to a very cheap PCI-E placeholder card, 200£ is a whole lot of money for a 16 year old that could be used for fun.

Whole system, waste of time this crap, you start looking forward to games coming out, and the ***** just get delayed, i bet theres not many people playing new games today.
