I want new GFX

So whats your system going to be now?
It won't be anything core2 based as that's just a tweaked up p3, it won't use ddr2 as that's just tweaked ddr1, it won't use any 8*00 series as they are all based on the g80 in some way and nothing 3**0 based as that is recycled tech too.

:D:D

;)

I like when graphics cards stay on top for really long like gtx then you dont have to upgrade really often :)

The problem with this is that they release the best card and it stays that way for so long it doesnt seem so quick after a while. I still say they need to make their ultra cards a lot faster, i would rather pay the extra to buy one of those if it would make every game run silky smooth. But they would rather everyone suffer and then spend a fortune on a new card release over a year later and its still not exactly brilliant :(

Well im almost ready for the next wave of graphics cards.

First ill see if they give a healthy boost over my SLI'd GT's, if not ill hold off a while.

and if nvidias ultra card is rubbish again over a gtx then all i can say is.. good luck selling them :)

It's crap at the moment I'm starting to move away from PC's anyway (hence why you won't find me posting a lot here anymore), finding tinkering with my car with mates a lot more fun. Plus cars get you out the house :D.

LOL is true

I am so bored with the tech and games atm that when I do game it is on the 360 or the wii :p ... and I had not previously owned a console since N64 :D

With the nights getting lighter and spring coming I find myself doing other

things than pc tweaking so I can totally uinderstand that sentiment.

To be honest, I don't play that many PC games... Mostly UT3 and Portal, but Portal's worn a bit thin lately. Keeping my 8800 GTS 320 'cause I don't need anything faster, and should still play games decently come next year (maybe not 60FPS@1980x1200 on uber max settings with 16x10^64 MSAA forced in the nV control panel 'decently', but to be honest, I don't have a large monitor, I don't have much room for a large monitor, and I don't keep fraps open all the god damn time like some people).

Actually, recently I've spent more time playing Chrono Trigger than PC games lately. :D:D

Im off at the mo and after carting my whole rig 160 miles south ive only played COH OF and that was last night. Spent today at the gym then cleaning out the fridge, making the 2 kids lunch (another half term), and playing Fight Night 3 (360) hooked up to my 24" monitor.

having said that im looking forward to getting back to the UK in Oct (havnt even left yet :p) and seeing what nice hardware will be around, last time i got back and it was all C2D and 8800gtx.

It's time Intel put their new 45nm process to more serious use and moved into the graphics card market.

Wouldn't that make Nvidia sweat with their 65nm cards ;)

It would make them sweat if they were any good, AMD's on 55nm and they aint sweating, but only because they aint as good as their bigger 8800's.:p

Thats a good point.

Another serious contender in the GFX card sector is only a good thing imo.
