Yes going to larger alloys still affects how a 1.6 Golf handles, not exactly the most difficult thing to grasp. So what it is a 1.6, doesn't mean that instantly the owner cannot care about how the car handles.

You cant tell even if the tyres are totally flat on this car, i had a blowout and didnt notice at first. I check them more often now as it saps fuel economy, not that i get any anyway.

Anyway, back to the golf. Dont bother, it looks respectable in both, the lowering wont add anything to the looks. Save your money.

Painted them with caliper paint, just gives it a bit more detail

if you have that then you cant lower much more than 40mm anyway as the arb starts to interface with the driveshaft

youll need either adjustable drop links (that dont work) or better ARBs

V6 4mo ones are straight. eibach ones have a bigger loop

Yup, but thought I would fill the arch up with 18" to save lowering it.... which didn't work

so will have to lower it anyways...

Quite high at the back, but has settled much more since that photo (6months on) and hard to tell when I am sat in car (i don't weigh much either)
