I use the OverclockersUK 1200mm one cos my desk is a bit long ...but the real reason i actually use it and like using it because it's a nice smooth easy surface for my mouse to glide across, I'm actually gonna get one or two more as well :)

Icemat changed their name to Steelseries and they then made the Experience I-2, which was basically an Icemat Gen 2 with a Steelseries logo, but that was years ago. They've been out of production for ages now :( think I got mine just as the name change was going on, at a guess they've not been made for about 5-6 years.
Like you say, they're so long lasting, clean up great with ordinary polish, and there's just nothing out there that is a decent replacement.

Nice to see another Icemat user though, we seem to be quite few and far between!

Sadly you can still buy one!! But there's a catch ;-)

Not sure if I can link to the site so you'll have to search yourself but googling Experience I-2 brings up a shocking colour.

Andi.

I'm still use my first edition IceMat glass mouse surface .... Must be like almost 10 years or something :D So they're now called Steelseries?

I highly recommend the "Hiro" mouse pad by Roccat - by far one of the best surfaces I have used/reviewed (and I have tested a lot!).

There is also another brand, which I cannot put my finger on atm, but on the OC network all they do is rave about them.

BRB researching!

I have a generic steelseries one. It has cool starcraft 2 images on it, which is why I bought it for novelty.

My corsair M65 says it has 50% surface quality, compaired to 100% on a wooden table.

But it feels alright, I do not see a reason to have anything else... Unless they manufacture a good one with a wrist rest.

Still use my black Icemat, no intention at all of stopping either!

A lower profile hard mat that isn't glass though, with a larger surface area, now that would get my attention...

Boogie Bug XL is a perfect surface for me, the edges wear like anything though, so some kind of mat with the same material and some sealing in the edge would be nice

I alternate between Overclockers own XL mat and a boogie bug XL when the Ocuk one is in the wash. Both are similarly awesome.

Oh, yeah, I saw that, but discounted it for obvious reasons :p

Nice, good going! Really shows how long lasting a good pad can be. They are indeed now known as Steelseries, they changed their name in 2007. I bought my Icemat 2nd edition in mid 2006, making it just over 7 years old now. Everyone thought I was crazy spending £40 on a mousepad, back when expensive mousepads weren't a commonly available thing, but it's been well worth the investment.

I've seen those Artisan pads but not sure how they'll measure up, glass top on a foam pad just sounds a bit weird. I just want a slab of glass like my Icemat!

I use a polished porcelain floor tile, better than any glass mat, stronger and cost £4 - £5 each.

I use a boogie bug xxl, and I use a keyboard gel wrist rest as an extra wide mouse hand rest so I can make use of the extra space while always having a comfy rest. Kind of a pain having to clear my desk to dust it off from time to time, but easier than wiping down the desk itself I guess!

I like a slippery mat, so it does me grand. But the edges are an issue as posted above.

Think the range is great already. I was using the BoogieBug Aimpad XL for years, recently changed to the OcUK branded huge mat and it's generally as accurate but with less resistance. Looks better too I think.

For reference, edges on my BoogieBug are as good as new. Maybe they're not all made equal?
