I was going to wait until I saw this...

It is a good deal - should give you a nice boost.:D

Only concern is imminent arrival of next gen - June/July I hear. Your choice buy now and enjoy or wait as new may be so much better again or the the price on these may drop even further.

To make it a cheaper upgrade still you could ,simply, buy the cheapest available and o'clock it. - That warranty is good though.

Personally I'd go for it - Enjoy

Your not wasting your money at all, i went from a 320mb GTS to an 8800 GT at only 1280x1024, and even at that res the GT destroyed it, even the extra memory really helps to as 320mb is far to little these days, and the prices of the GT's now are fantastic. :)

Depending on budget though, you could wait till July fro the next gen.

just get the XFX GTX that's on offer - it'll do a lot better, especially later on.

and DONT get eVGA... step up for us UKers is horrifically expensive atm, and not worth it - take it from an eVGA 8800GT owner...

Do what I do, only upgrade when there's a specific new game you want to play. If you're thinking of buying a new game then yes, if you just want better performance out of your existing games then no, unless you really can't put up with the performance you're getting now.

you could prob sell your current GTS for £50 on the bay so the upgrade will be even cheaper. do it! lol

Both are great deals! I found it impossible to resist the GTX because my native res is 1920 x 1200, however if I was running 1680 it would have been more difficult to justify the extra expenditure...

This is sound advice.

1680x1050 here, graphics are just as good as ultra high in crysis, looks the same/better, runs awsome here on an 8800GT

What do you mean by 90 days step up?

http://www.evga.com/stepup/default.asp?switch=3

It's a special program. In the next 3 months from the time you've bought your new Graphics Card you can upgrade to even newer card just for the cost of differences. For example if 8800GT you've bought costed you £130 and after let's say 70 days you want to upgrade to a new graphics card that normally cost £170 (8800GTX for example), you send your current one to EVGA and pay them just £40 and they send you the card that you want. :)

The only problem is EVGA's 8800GTX are not £170, you would be paying a lot more. Have you tried the EVGA step up program? Its said to take a while and also due to the actual step up cost you might aswell sell it and buy the card and end up saving money. At the moment its £252, and in 70 days it would be no point upgrading to a 8800GTX as it would not be a worthwhile upgrade and also you cant upgrade to a 9 series product.

buy gt enjoy it for a month before release of new cards flog it for decent price add bit more cash u get from the card u got and buy the r700 or something
