I wish every player was like this

Nice story :)

People say the guy should get out out more and its only a game but he helped someone that was being bullied in real life, the game was an escape and the bullies followed him there. Nice to see the good guys are out there :)

It really says something about how society has changed if the school bullies play WoW.

It also seems a bit weird that he took this kid shopping. He would have got some very strange looks if it was in real life :p

So there are mature people in WoW after all? I tried for a year to find a nice guild and failed miserably in the torrent of loud mouth children and much worse, the egotistical older generation.

Nice story though. He sacrificed a lot of ingame time to put a smile on someones face. Fair play to him.

Gives you a good feeling to know that you've made someones day. Oh and I'm no fan of RP and I think its a bit stupid but in this case it seems it did a good job :)
I find it difficult to understand why a bunch of kids were even on a RP server, unless there parents made them(because no1 swears really?)
And even harder to understand how ANYONE who plays a RP server can bully anyone else, even if they play the RP server too, hah.

I found people in wow are very generally helpfull and polite when asking for help. Thats a really thoughtfull thing he did and I for one want to see it more often.

I wonder how RP servers go about Raiding. Do you have to /quake in fear every time a raid boss does something, before actually offering to heal a tank that has politely, but forcefully, reminded you that he needs healing because this big bad nasty guy that you have come to liberate the world of, is infact hell bent on continuing to be a big bad guy so he'll do pretty much all he can to kill you, the fiend, and that whilst yes your robes do look good in that light, he (the tank if you've lost me) still needs that healing spell!

Apparently in battlegrounds you're not allowed to engage someone unless you square up to them, /bow and then ask others to /wait.

I play WoW, I'm 34 and probably only game in total for 10hrs a week - I value that time, and quite a lot of the time I will help out lower levels with their quests, purely because a couple of higher rankers helped me when I started out. I'm only a level 21 hunter but I can make a real difference to a level 17 on his/her quests. It's amazing how many times people have stopped afterwards and said "Thank you for your help, see you around" and say hello if I see them on my travels. It makes it all worthwhile, I'm not that fussed about being a level 65 demigod, I have fun exploring anywhere but the barrens (who doesn't:p) and pick up quests if they suit me. You don't know when that same person may save your ass in a fight later too, going beyond the call of duty to repay your help.

This guy very well may have changed this kids life, realising that not all people out there (in RL or WoW) are all a**holes is a good thing :)

I have a very fond memory of getting tricked in Ultima Online many years ago when I was at college and had loads of free time to waste. I gave all my armour of fortification, which was pretty expensive and important to me at the time, to some guy claiming he would repair it. Instead, he ran off and all his mates gave me a lot of grief. I felt horrible. All that hard work gone in an instant.

However...

One player was quietly watching from afar. I ran off back to the bank to see what I could sell to start raising funds. He followed me there and gave me the equivalent of 100000 gold or something like that. He simply said to me "Be more careful next time" and ran off!

Restored my faith in the game and players, although I was a lot younger back then, the whole experience went from gutting to heart-warming.

Thank you, wherever you are now!

I've always thought the RP aspect was more for non-combat situations.

I personally think the RPers make more of a game out of WoW than the grinders just trying to get the best items and the highest pvp rank.
