I wonder why us shopfloor workers weren't asked.

WELL SAID!!:D:D

a few hours befpre closing time on Christmas Eve'd be the ideal time and no doubt somebody (who's had aal day to do their schopping)'ll turn up just as the doors're about to be closed and locked (just for 'a few small item' and they'll be quick)., only to spend half the time on Facebook
and then have the nerve to just walk out of the shop and leave half of THEIR shopping in the middle of the aisle.
Then there's the usual;-
Go on, it's christmas/where's your christmas spirit?
You've just spoilt my kids' christmas!!

My lass used to work for GAME. She's had many parents tell her she's ruined Christmas because they came into the store a week before the day for the hot item that's been OOS for weeks.

She even had one point her out to her kid and said "See this lady, she's the one who's ruined your Christmas"

Yet game consoles and games can normally be reserved for a few quid.

Shops and their staff aren’t responsible for people’s poor planning.

"struggling to adapt to post-lockdown working life"....
It was only a couple years ago, FFS.... Most of them will have been working like that for at least 5 years, probably 20, and quite likely even longer.

So they struggle to adapt to being alone and working from home, all shut away... now they're struggling to adapt to being back and around people?
Man up, shut the **** up, and get back to work... or just pick up your P45 and **** off - There are plenty of others who'll gladly take your job!!

Me one of them

I'd love another lockdown, driving to work was bliss, life was just better
I almost got ran over at a traffic light last night because someone decided he would over take 5 cars waiting at a red-light

post lock down road rage is real

Land rover BTW, didn't even acknowledge my presence as I stood blocking the road whilst his car bonnet was about 5 inches from my back side

literally looking away until I carried on walking...

I assume your daughter politely replied along the lines of…..’No madam, the reason your child’s Christmas is ruined is because of your inability to plan and reserve or order in time the item your child wanted. Hopefully this ruined Christmas serves as a bit of a life education both for you and your child’

I was a waiter for a few months.

I made sure never, ever to be in that position again. How I managed to escape that industry without battering some Karen to death over her tap water not being cold enough is beyond me.

She really wanted to!

Survey of 3100 people. I gave up reading there.
My understanding is that 3500 to 4000 entirely randomly selected people from the UK population is statistically representative of the entire UK (65m approx), but I am not a statistician, I am sure others can correct me. It does depend on an entirely random sample however from the relevant population being assessed.
