***OVERCLOCKING GUIDELINES***

*** UPDATED 2014 ***

- Do not exceed 1.45v core voltage, doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU
- Aim to keep temperatures below 80c if at all possible
- Do not overclock with BCLK, again doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU

*** SOFTWARE USED ***

OCCT - Cpu
Prime 95 - Overclock Stability Testing ( 5hrs+ Recommended )
Intel Burn Test - Overclock Stability Testing ( 10-20 Loops High/Very High )

Intel Burn test overnight :D

Also make sure load line is set to level 4-5, doing a burn test later and ofcause post all my settings. Haven't had a chance yet, doing other stuff

In simple terms it stops the voltage from dropping off and it keeps it stable under heavy load, for example on my old asrock q6600 motherboard a voltage setting of 1.45 would drop to 1.32 and lower without vdroop.

I've had my eye on this mobo for a little while as the colour scheme fits perfectly for what I want and I've been wondering what's the benefit of going with a more expensive model?

I guess its not the clocking?!

This board has SLI the cheaper version doesn't, besides this one looks better :D

Yeh but this is Intel Burn Test which takes the heat a lot higher than prime does, no game will get it to that temp!. At this clock with this temp is acceptable using this software. Never get anywhere near 70C during games, crysis/BF3 e.t.c

It passed as well :)

Even with the beta version it's showing the low voltage.

Just checked with EasyTune and it's showing 1.358 volts

Yeh, CPU-Z doesn't read the voltage's correctly with many Z68 boards especially this one :(.

Use easytune 6 for the time being, just don't mess with the turbo buttons :D

Disaster avoided...the problem seems to be that I wasn't waiting long enough for the reset back to default BIOS settings. I had to leave the battery out for 5 minutes. Booted up fine at default clock speeds.

Think I'll wait a while until I try OC'ing again.

What bios version?, 4.5 should work could be the cpu not liking my settings. Try 4ghz and work your way up slowly :)
