I5 6400 core voltage?

My win 10 system is randomly freezing, requiring hard resets.

I've checked the memory and no errors. The voltage is fine at 1.200v.

I noticed the CPU core voltage is 0.944v (no overclocking) and wondering if that's a bit low?

Is that under load.? If so then yes it is too low.

Freezing and no bsod usually points to something other than low cpu voltage. What speed is the ram at, check vccio and system agent voltage, too high or low can cause instability.

This is not under load, everything at defaults.

Just done it again. Had rdp open, and chrome with an active hangout (web cam on).

Check the PSU 12v and 3.3v lines in bios or aida64.

id also suspect the PSU check with ur wattage is this a new system ?

It's a new mobo/cpu/ram. Rest is the same. The mobo is msi z170a sli plus. bios is a bit... funky. Will have to search around for voltages.

Couldn't find a 3.3v setting. There was a 5v and 12v. They are showing 5.0 and 12.2 in bios.

3.3v is showing as 3.344 - 3.360 in aida.

A voltage under 1V is very normal when idling, part of the normal power saving features.

Are all the cables from the PSU plugged in snugly?

I assume you used this memory testing software:

It tends to be better than most at picking up errors.

Also,what drives are you using?? A failing drive or SATA cable can cause the system to freeze too.

I've got a crucial ssd, sandisk ssd and some western digital drives - a black and a red I think.

i don't think because of voltage, maybe you should reinstall window and everything will fine.

It's a new install.
