i know what you are saying
it does make some difference obviously

in my opinion for the price - you may as well get the geil kit and run it at whatever speed you feel like

its the same ics as dominatorGT so it cant be bad

let me bench it first and i will shout up what i think

realistically
you have more headroom with p55
the chips have high multis which in turn mean they can go higher without making the memory clock a pain

you may remember, in the op i noted that imc performance on the chips was far beyond my expectations.

once i get through a few kits i will try to correlate what each one does and if the price is worth it

i have tried this and thought it was excellent VFM also

I support and help people maximise their clocks in all my CPU overclocking threads.
You are a very funny guy! :D

And considering you have never outclocked me you have no basis to remark! :p
This must be a bait but I can't resist replying ;)

Have I never managed to outclock you? . . . . It's not like something I keep tabs on so I'm a bit vague . . . what is your best stable overclock actually? :p

the 750 topped out way higher than the 860 in my tests

need to get the 860 off air and under the quad rad full of deltas to see how far it can actually push

still yet to find the daddy of p55 clockers yet
nothing has caught my eye exept for the evga and giga ud6
they are very expensive though

out of the ocuk samples, everything is focused on stability rather than being insane clockers

i want a board that can achieve over 220bclk so i can do some big clocks

Hey mate,
The 750's you have tried are they OcUK OEM or Retail and current stock?

Cheers for the info.

Is it worth paying the difference for the Geil over the Ripsaw?

Geil Ultra Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-17000

G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C9 2000MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH)

Wouldn't mind going 8GB and from the HardOCP review the GD80 seems OK with 8GB. overclocked.

Are all the Ripsaw based on the same chip and just speed binned?

i havent, however im not sure when/if we are getting that in

my choice is the EVGA

the price has come down now and it has FAR more features than a lot of other boards

if i was buying i5, i would be buying that board, a 750 and some dominator GT
