i7 920 temps

i have just bought the i7 920 do stepping cpu with a rampage 2 extreme mb and 6g of dominator 1600mhz and using stock cooling.

Not overclocked im getting 38 c at idle and primed at 75 c topps running for 30mins. core temp used for results.

Can anyone tell me if this sounds about right as ive read lots of differant temp results? Some say this is about right and others are saying that they are getting 24 c at idle.

stock cooler - temps are fine for that cooler

look at getting a better cooler for some overclocking action
 
I still have bad chip mate - now I'm using WC loop and my temps are: 39 C idle and 63 Full load with HT off - 4 GHz 1.23vcore
With HT on I have 41 C idle and up to 75 C full load - 4 GHz 1.29 vcore.
IMO should be a little bit lower ;)
 
Thanks for the response :). I am going to upgrade the cooler this week so i can start overclocking. Which cooler do you suggest? I was thinking of going for the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler.

better than corsair h50 too

order yourself some mx3 thermal paste and a good fan to go with it - then you are good for 4ghz easily
