i7 930

I'm hoping the press is right on these and they come out soon and are priced at approx 920 costs.
I'm bored with my c0 and it refuses to budge over 4.1 stable (temps to high anyway so stay at 4ghz) so really hope that i can push a newer chip a bit more.
I regrettably bought the c0 soon after release so i hope the first batches of the 930's arent gonna be as bad for oc'ing relative to the 920 c0/d0's.Yes i know i should be happy with 4ghz at decentish temps but as i said i'm bored of it now and want a challenge:-)

As for that cpuz screenie WOW,i cant even boot at stock speeds with that vid.

Serious e-penis envy eh ;)

I don't see how they would be any better or worse than i7 920 as they are undoubtedly going to be the same chip with a higher stock multiplier/clockspeed.

You will get good and bad ones as with i7 920.

if you bought an overclocked bundle or system from ocuk I trust that they would take care especially with these bad chips ? and not just ship one out which is dodgy :O ?

x21 normal, x22 with the extra plus 1 from turbo. Given anyone on air is thermally limited to around 4ghz anyway I don't get what all the fuss is about.

people are expecting them to be the same price as a 920 costs now in reality they will the rrp of a 920 which is somewhere around 230+ (some sites still sell 920s for that)

you may aswells just buy a 920 and save the 20-30quid imo
i wouldnt pay 20-30 quid for what might be an extra 100-200 mhz

With one. His replacement runs at 4.4Ghz and 1.28v. Just shows you can get good and bad overclockers, that's all.

Depends how stable it is, most 920's can probably do that sitting idle in windows with cpu-z open.

I've not looked at the thread did he post stress tests?

The £ has weakend against the $ slightly pushing prices up a little.
doesnt seem to have effected other sites and currencies dont effect distributors that quick either so no reason they should ocuk.

if anything you would think they would be trying to sell 920s before the 930 comes out which should be within the next month.

in america some sites have already been selling off 920s for 200$

wow...

unstable on air, stable at 4.4 on air.

def need to get a watercooling setup!

But these are the same results people are getting with the 920?

I still don't get it. However I'm clearly in the minority, so the 920 will drop in price, which can't be a bad thing,
