i9900k new pc build or wait for new gen Intel or Ryzen?

Sorry i was quoting him, I don't have a 2080ti! I have a 2070S, even still not overly happy with the 3600. It's fine but at 144hz I can lower settings to get 100fps in most games, but the minimums is what irks me.

also people who claim the 3700X is within a small margain of the 9900k are correct in one sense (avg frames) but wrong in another (min frames). it's top dog for a reason

You need to tweak your ram.

Not sure what the issue there but have looked at reviews showing the 2070S is enuf to keep the fps above 100 in whatever game you are playing? I have a R5 3600 with a 5700XT and i have no issues at 1440.

Wait, isee your sig with an i5 9600K, is that not enuf?

yikes, that's a big difference. my ram's bog standard 3200mhz. that's an old pc in my sig. current is a 3600 with 2070s and 16gb 3200mhz. 'old' pc is just because i sold it and built a new one out of interest, the 9600k oc'd and 1080ti is actually a much better combo than my current pc.

you are right about the 2070s but i'm more talking about the 3600. it has good avg frames but the 0.1% lows are way lower than say even my 9600K heavily oc'd. So even if I have 100fps avg with the 2070s, it's let down by drops from the 3600.

Yah, you have to overcome that infinity fabric. Oc the RAM to 3600MHz Cl16 and set IF to 1800 it should help. Got my RAM to 3333 MHz CL16 for gaming and 3733 CL16 for benching. Ryzen 4000 is said to alleviate the issue with IF much like the new TR.
