IC-Diamond GIVEAWAY Thread!

I seem to have lost/not saved the idle temps with the old Arctic MX-4, but I was watching it closely and was getting temps sitting around the 29 degree C mark.

The results you posted are exactly what I have experienced. At idle temps IC diamond is not as good as the MX-4, however once temps increase (where it matters) it outperforms the MX-4.

Idle temps are quite important to me as I like my pc as quiet as possible when idle. The cooler the cpu the lower the cpu fan speed. I'd imagine a couple of degrees wont make much difference though. Plus I currently have mx-2, so the difference might be even less.

On Gigabyte boards I got around this by using EasyTune. I would set the CPU fan to 20% until CPU temp reached 10 degrees under Tcase, then PWM fan would quickly ramp to full speed until it was 100% at Tcase. It kept the computer quite when doing normal work and the higher idle temps never appeared to effect anything. I don't do this any more as Gigabytes Easytune software is full of bugs and not worth installing anymore.

I've sent a PM and I'd love to try anything that's left.

I've always thought my 780ti ran a bit hot, so I'd love to see if I can knock a few degrees off :)

My CPU basically does nothing (3700k sitting at 3.2ghz right now! Don't need the speed!), so I thought posting CPU benchmarks would be very boring...

Check CPU-Z, your CPU isn't a 3700K, it'll more than likely be a 3770K, you want to change that in your sig mate.

Nice one

Liked both and pm sent.

Noticed someone has still gone and left you a + trust with their address details.

Anyways hope this is still on.

Thanks

Same here and I was in first 25.

If you go by the posts in the thread you should have been in the first 20 batch that went out, as some of the posts were not entries. I hope that a load of lurkers didn't just email the guy and not do any of the other parts of the giveaway, as there doesn't seem to be a lot of results out of 40 sent?

Hi All.

To be honest, I followed the instructions given by liking on Facebook and sent the trust PM as was asked - I do not mean to sound ungrateful (As I'm not), but I expected a little more communication in regards to who has been sent what - Surly they would want to know who has received what has been sent, or else it makes this look very disorganised, and is potenially as waste of money !?

I need some new paste as a matter of urgency, but have waited for this as it seemed the most logical thing to do - FrostDragon has not posted here for a while, so I am starting to worry that this paste will never materialise for many of us that have conformed to the instructions.

As I said, please do not take what I am saying out of context - Yes I understand this is free, and I am incredibly greatful, no doubt Frost has a lot on his plate and I suspect that's the reason for the lack of response, however this is a way of representing the business he works in, and thus far I don't feel the brand has been represented fairly given the lack of reply or apprent organisation.

I posted 16th and not received any yet :(. I've ran out of icd using xspc k2 and would like to test both with variables limited on the same day.

well I got mine, picking up some ISA this week to clean the old stuff off, maybe many people are waiting till they have results before posting?
The tube arrived exactly when it should have for when frost said he sent it, so i'd put the lack of communication on the Ocuk members.

Saying that, I do see the benefit of frostdragon posting a list of who he has sent to, so people know it's coming and can maybe ask at the post office if nothing was recieved.

I went from MX-4 on my Corsair H100 to trying out the IC-Diamond.

As many have said, the idle temps seem a bit worse, but load temps are slightly better.

Roughly the following, however room temperature has been flucting a fair bit so I don't expect these to be accurate or to be taken as an accurate comparison. I will be testing this is a stable and temperature-controlled environment when I get time, hopefully towards the end of the week.

IC Idle: 42'c
MX-4 Idle: 38'c
IC Load: 56'c
MX-4 Load: 60'c
