you just get different discs to cover different countries. :)
Is it CD-based rather than DVD then? The gf's father's E38 has the old CD-based system with the small 4:3 screen. As yours has a bigger, widescreen monitor I always assumed it would be a more recent, DVD-based system?

how does this work then? does the cone not hit the back of the seat, I'd have thought that would sound poo the way it's mounted??

CD based still. i am considering the upgrade to DVD and new software as the current system is a PITA and slow.

fox - i am looking at getting a hayward and scott system that is manifold back soon. i was debating replacing the back section too, so if you are interested then let me know. :)

might be difficult to fit though as you would need a custom section built in mid section to match it up.

I don't think it would even fit unfortunately becuase I have a spare wheel well where you have the right hand backbox :(

Nope the cone is about 30mm from the back seat. The bass is ported into the cabin via the ski hatch behind the armrest.

ah right I see, I quite like that. When I first looked at it I thought the cone would be bouncing of the seat, hence not making its full sound, but if there's plenty of space to move that should sound rather nice :)

I'd really recommend this upgrade, I recently went from a mk3 CD nav computer to a mk4 DVD one and the difference is amazing. The perspective mode is great, and my Intravee ainet converter seems to work much faster reading and displaying the ID3 tags from my changer.

My Mk4 cost 265 from a Lithuanian seller - worth looking at them on the German ebay site as you always pick up a bargain (my 16:9 CD bordmonitor was less than 300).
