Iceland trip camera

I went to wex and had a play with them all. That moved me away from the Olympus towards to the Sony's. The full frame will undoubtedly be better for my Iceland trip, but after that the extra reach of the 6700 would be better for wildlife.
 
I am going to wex next Monday to make a decision. I think the R7 is back in the mix too now it has some nice sigma lenses. It will depend on which we feel feels better in our hands.

The Paradox of choice! It was ultimately a trip to Wex this weekend that made my mind up. I was mainly going to look at the Lumix S5ii but after holding it i decided it was a bit bulky. Coming from an A6000 i like the small form factor of the A7C ii.
 
Don't choose the camera, choose the lenses and then let that decide the camera.

Olympus lenses tend to be high saturation and the choice of arty types. I have always been a fan of their lenses.
 
Just going back to the tripod notes...if you're shooting the nothern lights it's definetly worth packing, even if it's a tiny 6" one, it'll still do the job.

Camera etc is your choice but I would recommend a lens around 20mm (on FF) with a fast aperture (2.8 minimum) for aurora images. Ideally 4 to 6 seconds is right for such images.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Iceland over the last couple of years, had a month there over the summer travelling around in a campervan, and each trip has been unique and special, it’s a fabulous place.
