Hi. I recently upgraded my system to a Gigabyte 965P-DS3, C2D E2140, 8800GTS, 2 GIG Ballistics PC6400 RAM and a corsair 520w PSU. As I was on a tight budget I used my old case along with my 2 year old Harddrive and my DVD/RW.
Like I said the harddrive is an 80gig Hitachi Deskstar with 2 mb buffer and is sharing the IDE channel with my DVD/RW as the mobo has only got one IDE channel. The problem is during games like Oblivion the game can suffer from stuttering during outside scenes and I'm beginning to think I should have got a cheap SATA harddrive, instead of using this old thing.
What sort of difference would I see between a cheap Seagate like this (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-123-SE&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=167) and my current drive. Would it be worth it?
Thanks.
