hi I have an old ide hdd that I can't connect to my MB as it has no ide interface on it any help with this would be nice..MB is an asrock z68 Ex 4 gen 3 ..

Get a proper PCI card for a fiver instead as those cheap nasty adaptors are hit and miss from personal experience

Get decentish, branded one (for like a tenner) that does IDE AND sata to USB with it's own power source. Any drive you ever need to connect in a hurry is now covered...
(go the whole "dock" idea if you want for around £20 and they'll usually take 2 drives)

i wouldn't recommend for a permanent solution, but to get data off an old drive they have served me well.

hi I hav tried this out and at first the drive did not show up .
then it did but only 31.4 gig and the drive is 240 gig .. any help with this guys ?

For both IDE to SATA and IDE to USB, have you set the pins on the drive to master?

yes and have set jumper to master
