Ideally what size monitor would you game on?

24" at the moment. Ideally I could do with something slightly bigger because I use my pc for television & DVD's as well. I sit on my bed which is quite a bit further back.

did you install the monitors drivers ?
mine required its drivers to be installed to see the full list of what it was capable of.

I probably didnt, I knew nothing about installing drivers back when I had that PC.

I cant remember the model of that monitor, but I've had that 17" diamondron, then a 19" Sony X-black TFT, and currently my Acer G24, all of which were fantastic gaming monitors and lasted ages.

By the time I'm done with my current one, we will probably have 30" 2560x1440 LCDs with 120 Hz for £300 :p

Both the Sony and the Acer have glossy screens and over 400 cd/m2 brightness, colours on both of them were unbelievably good, sharp and vibrant.

All the current 120 hz monitors only have 1080p res, and a basic 300 cd/m2 brightness, so I'll wait a few more years for something a lot better.

I also game on a 24" at 1200x1940, I can only dream of ever playing some games on a 40" as some users have in this thread. But I certainly find that 24" has plenty of room for everything I require whilst gaming, and consider I dual screen if one screen doesn't suffice I can place other stuff on the second screen.

Im on a 24" 1920x1200 benq fp241w, id like a 27", but the problem with going to a larger/higher res screen, is the need for a beast of a card/cards to run the native res in games.

Anyone with the larger screens > 30", do you end up having headache or pains caused to such a large gaming screen? Always been curious about this.

I have a 24" benq, I think I upgraded from a 19" and there is a massive improvement.

If price wasnt a factor I imagine something a bit bigger would be ideal e.g a 27" or 30", beyond that it would be uncomfortable.

It wouldnt be the screensize that causes headaches or pain, but the refresh rate and response time. The more flicker the screen creates, whether you can see it or not, the higher the chance of that happening.

I really miss the monitor space of my old imac 27 inch with its resolution of 2560x1440. It was perfect for everything, apart from gaming (due to the immense strain on the graphics card lol)

I use a 23 inch dell IPS monitor which is very good, just feels kinda small due to the 1080p res.
