Identify this snake

By going in and killing it you are putting yourself and others at far more risk than if you were to just leave it alone. Honestly, you're speaking like it just wandered into the factory looking to kill people.

It may have been packing an knife or an Uzi, you never know with these crazy snakes now-a-days. Why bite when you can fill full of lead ?

Regardless of where I am, if I ever were to see a snake near me, I would either run away or if not possible, exterminate it. Snakes = dangerous in my eyes and I have no idea which ones are poisonous or not.

I would reply, but I've just realised that I've been talking to Blink 182 fan so instead I'll go and throw my guts up.

You should have called reptile keeper.

It's so silly of you to kill it based on a factory policy.
I was taking the **** for crying out loud.

Jesus wept. I threw a tray at it, I'm not going to go anywhere near a bloody snake! Read my post above.

I would do exactly the same thing again if it happened tomorrow. You will not convert me, I will not take the risk of somebody getting bitten by a poisonous snake EVER. I kill rats around the factory too, I hope that doesn't disturb any of you, not to mention the thousands of insects, hell, I'm basically a mass murderer!

well its some type of rat snake, but was there any need to kill it, how about you come to my house and because i dont like the look at you i smash my size 11 in your face, that snake keeps the vermin population down, and by the sounds of it with you needing hair nets your in the food industry, well done you.

I am a reptile keeper so this kind of pic i find highly offensive, and i ask the mods to remove it or to change the title, this is a family forum not a barbaric show piece.

OK. Two things.

The underlined bit - what in the name of almight Marky does that mean? OK. I just got it. You are criticising his job. Good comeback. If it helps, my comeback to you is that you probably look like this:

The bold bit - BAHAHAHAHAHA.

Mark

P.S. Would you object if it was a fly? It's still an animal?

I would have done what the OP would have done. We're no "reptile keepers", so best to play it safe and kill it in my opinion

I'm sure a lot of you would have stamped on a fat spider if it came near you? Same principle.

some of you act as if you would start petting the snake if it came out underneath your desk..tbh if i were in that situation id probably get as far away as possible or like in i know nothing's case throw the first thing i see at it...its just one those instant reflex things you see something that can potentially harm you do whatever you need to not get hurt...whats to say that snake wasnt poisonous? i personally wouldve assumed that it was deadly as soon as i saw it..my health and safety is a lot more important than a snakes...

^^^^ Especially in somewhere like Asia, in the UK I may act differently but even someone who loves most animals would not go near a snake like that.

...because in the split second the snake came out and started scaring his workers, he was supposed to quickly jump on to Wikipedia and find out if it was poisonous or not before taking action?

It's just a reaction against something potentially harmful.

nah google would have probably been better mate

Erm, you're much more likely to be bitten if you attack it, approach it aggressively...etc, you should have just backed off. Plus you would have gotten some time off work until the snake had left/been removed.

I'm not an environmentalist but the picture upsets me because of the unnecessary death of an animal. Especially considering you really must've whacked it to make it bleed like that.

Surely you could have put a box over it or something?

You did the right thing. Asia has some very dangerous snakes and in the split second it came out, its exactly the reaction I would have had :)
