My friend found this on beach near Troon, Ayrshire, imho looks like a seal?, apologies for the poor phone pics, it's lead btw.

hmm not quite, this one def has some text etc, weirdy symbols AND the holes on the edge seem seal-like.......its great I have provided no scale lol and actually mislead as the CD sleeve is a mini one lol, it is actually only slightly bigger than a 20p.

if its wood its possibly from a roman cloak or something , or maybe its just a peice of crap from a boats sail lines or something

The lettering on it (in the first image) looks like Greek Symbols

A 'Phi' - Φ - maybe a 'kappa' - κ ?

Get it to your local museum with it and ask a curator?
