Just sitting at my PC, and some complete idiot sent a firework almost in my window (not necessarily on purpose), damn thing exploded right next to the window...scared the poo out of me (not literally).

It's going to be a lone week of idiots with fireworks around here I think. :(

I don't mind fireworks, so long as they are at specific times and for events, so Nov. 5th and Jan. 1st are acceptable, but for no real reason and at houses is just plain idiocy.

Thank God you put that, I thought you'd literally had poo scared out of you :D

:p

Well I certainly wasn't expecting a firework to explode right out side my window, so it scared me.

Unfortunately I have some neighbours that are of the chav kind, which means there are bound to be loads of fireworks going off at random hours over the next week.

I live 2 mins from the police station, yet people still use fireworks at silly odd hours of the night/morning, and they are relatively close to where I live by the sound of them.

There are always chavs setting fireworks off in the day, I never figured that one out, what's the point?

I wish they'd ban fireworks entirely, there are plenty of public displays people can go to (I'm off to one tonight.)

There's just been an instance of a chap out walking his dog at our local country park being attacked by kids in a car throwing them. They tried not only to harm him with the fireworks but also tried to run him down several times - police are treating it as attempted murder.

It's about time we just banned them entirely, it's the same every year. We have cars set on fire with them, muppets throwing them at people in the street and NOBODY does a damn thing about it. Either raise the purchase age to 25 (no 21 isn't enough) or ban the public from owning them.

I've never been that bothered with fireworks all my life, just doesnt do it for me.

I think leave it to the experts dont sell em as its open to the abuse, like anything, fireworks are dangerous and should be policed as such.

Never had any problems with fireworks round this way, though I know from some friends @ Uni in Plymouth that not everyone's as responsible! (were having firework fights back in september!)

Thing is, every year we have a big fireworks party where most people buy a massive rocket or a £50 shotbox thing, and theres never been any problems/complaints etc. (only incident was when a shotbox fell over and started firing at us, so everyone dived behind a 2ft wall for cover!)

They are banned down here, every now and then you get the off fire work go off at a party in my town but the cops seem to straight on the case and hunt the party down and give them a talking too/close it down

I have always found it bizzare, especially during these 'times of terror' that we allow selling of high explosives to anyone. The terrorists spend many hours of kitchen chemistry trying to manufacture high explosives when they are available in massive quantities at the local corner shop (most of which they own :p )

Personally I enjoy them, and shall be buying some today, to take to a party tonight, where we will be having a bonfire, fireworks and maybe a couple of drinks.

If fireworks got banned, i'd happily just seek them out from less legitimate sources.

We had 3 fireworks get thrown on a bonfire with people standing about 3 meters from it  Two of them just exploded in the bonfire (made my right ear pop) and one of them flew out, in the opposite direction fortunately! They thought the boxes were empty but some fireworks obviously hadn't gone off properly.

Well at the moment Bournemouth (or at least Winton) sounds like a war zone at night. Pretty much constant explosions etc.

Tonight I expect there'll be many more explosions etc.

Couple nights ago I looked out of my window when I heard a 'woooosh' from a rocket, to see one fly straight into my garden and explode in the bushes, showering my garden in colourful light.

I enjoy fireworks, and love having them when at home for events like Nov 5th, and New Year, but I live in the middle of nowhere, so nobody else is disturbed by them, and they are only used on events, not for the week leading up to events etc.

I can see why people want them banned, but even with my dislike of fireworks being set off by idiots I don't think they should be banned, else it'll spoil a lot of fun events that you don't have to pay extortionate amounts to go to, and don't have to travel a huge distance to see some pants fireworks where you can't get ****** either.

Quick Quick knee jerk reaction lets ban them that'll fix the problem! Everytime something is ruined by a minority in this country there are call to ban it, lets spoil the fun of the mature majority for the sake of a few problem kids. I say enforce the existing laws which you'll find are pretty stringent about when and where etc you can set off fireworks and leave the law abiding masses alone.

I seen a guy last night setting fireworks off around an enclosed area, flats to be exact. Fireworks shooting off, hitting trees, dropping on cars and going into balconies of flats above, idiot.

Don't be ridiculous it's a small minority that let everyone down, the same with everything, they won't be banned
