if i sell my 7990, what should i replace it with?

hey guys,

as prices have shot up and people are snapping them up, i may sell my 7990, but, what do i replace it with? i want at least the same amount of performance.

GTX 770 SLI?
R9 280X CF?
GTX 780TI?

what do you think guys?

Not the 'ti', and just get the one for now. You could also consider a R290 (non - x).

i will get the GPU's from the MM, so i should be able to pick up two of the ref design cards (hope so anyway)

im using a 144hz monitor so more FPS the better

Most likely better value, depending on the price of a 780 of course. You could always pick up one now (290), or wait for the non-reference coolers.

780s pop up in the MM more often (dont think non X290s have shown up yet?) so if you're going to buy second hand, 780s might be your most viable option, they go for pence now as well

is there a certain 780 you recommend? my 7990 hits 80 in bf4 atm so two 780's that could be quieter and cooler is a huge+ to me

I'd probably go with two ref cards, depends on your board/case layout though whether they'd be cooler & quieter than the 7990 (what i thought is pretty quiet?)

im running a CHFZ in a cm storm trooper, yet its ok but gets noisy when it srarts to get pushed.

could you tell me the pros and cons on the 780 and 7990?

Well it's 2 x 7970's on 1 PCB but it's not hugely better, 7990 gets maybe 6 fps more in crysis 3 over a 780 which is a single GPU card.

I play bf4 mostly but play a lot of others as well.

How much are 780's going for in the mm atm? May be able to pick two up for SLI.

I sold my reference 780 for £280 about a month ago, So anywhere in that region.
