If you don't flush it straight away, you end up needing to clean the toilet far more often and will spend more on bleach than you will save on water usage.
Absolutely disgusting to let it just sit there. There's nothing I find quite as disgusting as venturing to a toilet only to find some uncouth swine has refused to flush.
What if you were really desperate to say... throw up and didn't have time to flush. Yummy, a mouth-full of eau de sugar-puff.
Haven't read the thread but a lot of toilets have the 2 flush option; one is for pee and the other is for, um, not pee. Different water volumes or some such techniical shenanigins.
our family of 5 are a "If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down." family. We are water metered so saves money, we also use the exsisting bath water for flushing the upstairs toilet
I think the point is more the resources burned and power used to pump water around the infrastructure of the country, the energy used to clean it, desalinise it and recycle it before pushing it through thousands of miles of pipe just to flush away some pee... rather than you know, the LACK of water.
