If this is the soundtrack of our summer then God help us

I saw them before they released Who Killed ;)

Seen them 3 times now and are by far my favourite band, but if you look back over the thread no one actually slagged them off, it was a guy saying they should not be slagged off

Agreed with Abi Harding being a nutter :D , but Phoaaarr

I saw them before they released Who Killed too, in a tiny club in Leicester, spent the entire time trying to work out if Abi was actually fit in between enjoying the tunes and being drunk. :p

2nd time i saw them they were supported by Dogs Die in Hot Cars, who i wish had followed a similar sucess route to the Zutons, which they kinda did...release an album devoid of 20% of their best original live tracks and still sell a shed load...it's just that Dogs didn't seem to get the same exposure.

I'd even go so far as to say Dogs Die were a more entertaining band than the Zutons.

:)

The soundtrack to your summer should be exactly what you want it to be. You're a little too trusting if you're expecting national radio to provide something other than whatever EMI puts in their postbag that week.

a song thats slowly driving me insane is that stupid voodoo child from the bird off neighbours. I admit she is pretty hot but the song is just pants.

Me and a mate saw that on holiday.

The lyrics and music in combination make you lose faith in the general public.

How can they think that song is anywhere good is beyond me.

Saw an interview on T4 with them.

"So how did you get (whatever her name is)"

"well she was the best voice in the audition".

You could tell from the way he said it and her body language it was more "She's from neighbours which gets us unearned exposure."

EDIT: their band name is Rogue Traders. That sets them up to be poor in itself.

Baby, baby, baby
You are my voodoo child, my voodoo child

You're like voodoo baby
You just take hold
Put your cards on the table baby
Do I twist, do I fold
You're like voodoo honey
All silver and gold
Why don't you tell me my future
Why don't I sell you my soul
So here it comes, the sound of drums
Here come the drums, here come the drums
* Baby, baby, baby
You are my voodoo child, my voodoo child
Don't say maybe, maybe
It's supernatural, i'm coming undone
[Repeat *]
You're like voodoo baby
Your kisses are cold
Feel your poison running through me
Let me never grow old

You're like voodoo honey
My pictures you stole
You play me like a puppet
Sticking pins in a doll
So here it comes, the sound of drums
Here come the drums, here come the drums
[Repeat * , *]
Woo!
Here come the drums, here come the drums
[Repeat *]
Baby, baby, baby
You just take hold
Don't say maybe, maybe
Do I twist do I fold

We couldn't find any sense in these lyrics, can you? :D

There's never a soundtrack to any summer.

A good DJ will play a nice range of songs so you don't get stuck with 'recent' tripe. I always discover a few old songs during the summer, and when I listen to these in the future they carry distinct memories and make me feel good.
