If u think miners dont add to a problem, well think again.

I can’t believe OCUK are advertising 3070 Evga with 10+ in stock for near £1200!!! That’s disgusting. I am a business buyer and have accounts with distributors and I know they are not paying more than £650 for them. They are marking up nearly 100%. Purely disgusting and greedy arbitrage. Don’t you dare delete this post OCUK.

Why would you mine at a loss at all?

Let's say it costs you £300 a month in electricity and for that you get £200 worth of coins.

Why wouldn't you just pay £200 for £200 worth of coins at an exchange instead?

You would have to be retarded to mine at a loss. You're literally throwing money away and the whole point of it all is to make money not lose it.

I wonder if these folk who've managed to procure all these GPU's (and we don't know at what cost) had just scalped them instead of mining with them. Lets say at the beginning Spet/Oct/Nov 2020 you got 20 3080's for £850 each and sold them fully scalped now. Wonder if you'd have made more than they could've mined?

Double your money why not.

In 8 months at a cost of £17000 would already have been paid off within 5 months and made about £10,000 profit after that. Could then actually sell the cards for a grand each and made another 20 grand.

(vague figures, as the mining rates go up and down)

Couldn't believe it when I saw it either. Considering a £450ish rrp that's pretty rough. I'm surprised Nvidia allow it!

Yeah this is disgusting practice by Overclockers, should be ashamed of themselves. PS5’s are difficult to get but at least the price is still at msrp.

You will be waiting a long time. It will still be profitable until October/November.

Chip shortages also means that supply may increase in the sell off but demand is there to take care of it. Especially when folk are paying £1500 for a £600 GPU.

Tongue in cheek reference to the people thinking loads of cards will appear.

PlayStation are MSRP because anyone caught selling higher won't get anything in future from Sony.

Sony sell them at a loss on purpose. So they cannot allow retailers to make money on them either.

You don't really understand what the console business model is.
