Exactly the same thing. When I started working I took out credit cards, store cards, a car loan, a personal loan, I just managed to become debt free last year after almost 10 years of struggling by.

I still am, but in a few months i'll be a sight better off, hard isn't it?

Yup, easy to get into, nightmare to get out. The Mrs. is expecting our second in August, lets hope it's another girl so we can reuse stuff, if not then another loan may be required :(

Aside from lottery numbers, I'd need to give myself some job interview advice. My first job interview was at a company I really wanted to work for, but being my first interview, I failed to get it. I am quite sure my life would have a lot more direction and be a lot better overall if I had got it.

Where do I start?

- Try harder at school
- Buy that house up the road
- Don't worry what people think of you, they probably aren't anyway
- Save a set amount each month, every month, without fail

Don't mess around getting old £2000 cars fixed all the time. Just buy a new car. It's cheaper. It looks nicer. It's less hassle, in fact, it's no hassle.

Don't feel bad about seeing an 18 year old girl when you're about 26. By the time you're 43 and they're 35 (-8 years) and not 51 (+8 years) you will be glad.

Lose weight. I waited till I was 20 and was a very big girl before that (lost around 4.5 stone). Wish I'd done it when I was 16, or even before then - eaten more healthily and done more exercise. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be at all and I feel great these days :)

"Mat, enjoy it! It's a real roller-coaster at times but you'll be ok."

I'm waiting for my future self to send me something back to confirm that this remains the case!

I think mine can be summarised as....Don't worry. I used to worry too much about...everything as a kid/teen/growing up. I'd tell myself to enjoy life to the max whenever the opportunity occurs and to have more confidence. To go with the flow more and let go....enjoy the ride.
