Don't film it on your own helmet cam.:p

http://metro.co.uk/2014/04/28/motor-biker-is-caught-by-police-driving-recklessly-using-his-own-helmet-camera-4711890/

A motorcyclist managed to help ban himself from the road by recording his own ‘dangerous driving’ using a helmet cam.

Police initially pulled him over after spotting him driving over 60mph in a 30mph zone after dark with no headlights.

When questioned, 20-year-old Lewis Shallcross, from Plymouth, claimed to think that the speed limit was 100mph.

The officers seized the man’s camera and found 6 minutes of footage of him doing wheelies in residential areas, speeding along bus lanes and almost hitting a dog.

The reckless rider’s barrister described him as a ‘hard-working young man’ who ‘clearly has got a lot of growing up to do’ but asked for him to keep his bike.

Mr Shallcross was disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to forfeit the high powered motorcycle and helmet cam.

He was additionally given a £60 victim surcharge and ordered to perform 250 hours of unpaid work.

60 in a 30 zone with no lights in the dark, and videoed his own 'dangerous driving'.

Stupid ****.

Be careful out there those with helmet cams. :)

The wheelie at the start where he almost went into the car was pretty funny! But yeah the guy is a complete idiot just from watching the footage.

Ali Rafati, defending, said Shallcross had borrowed £3,500 from his mum to pay for the motorbike and then spent a further £4,000 on it.

How on earth do you spend £7.5k on a 125

Indeed, what a waste :(

I'd ban him just for that tbh, if you seriously think a 30 zone is a 100 zone (nevermind the fact that no roads in britain are above 70) then you shouldn't be on the roads, you'll end up killing someone.

Glad we didn't have Go-pros when i was a lad :D .

I am in the 40s now :(, too fat, bald and lazy for stunts like that thesedays :)

Besides anything the daiy fail prints is lies so wouldn't be surprised if it was mini moto.

Added him on Facebook for a laugh plus I wanted to see how many times he had to blow up the engine to spend 7.5k on a 125 KTM lol

Engine blew up, chain, gearbox etc

Dunno if it said in the article but; 250 hours community service, 18 month ban, and bike seized.
Next status down was "wake n bake" :p

Apparently he had is bike taken off him too in August 2013 !

Sounds like a complete douchebag. Hopefully get banned soon enough.

Surely fitting these to all bikers by law would cut more accidents ?

Nope. It would just make it easier to sue everyone.
Besides, you fit these to bikes by law, you will have to fit them to every vehicle. Who's gonna pay for all that?
At that volume it would be the owners' expense, either through aftermarket GoPro type things or factory fitted (further increasing the cost of vehicles).

All it would really do, aside from turning us into Russia, is bring profit for the solicitors using the footage in court, the manufacturers and retailers of the camera systems & SD cards, the fitters employed by people who can't even change their own oil let alone fit one of these... and probably the Police who make money from prosecuting the idiots that will still misbehave.
