Options>view message: Hi, sorry to bother you, but would you mind leaving the country now if it's not too inconvenient for you?

Options>delete>resume illegalising.

Actually it's a yes to the first question. The part of the article you qouted is in reference (or should be) to them making it possible to fine landlords who rent to illegals, and other things to allegedly make it harder for them to stay.
No and no, I stand by what I wrote;)

well, this is the FULL quote from what you posted:

In Britain the majority of people work hard, play by the rules and get on through merit. We have a proud record of integrating immigrants from around the world, and Britain has become home to many individuals fleeing persecution.

“Most people who come to this country wish to comply fully with our immigration laws, but where they don’t we are committed to blocking the benefits and privileges that should only be enjoyed by those here legitimately.

“That’s why the time is now right to tackle the root cause of the problem – exploitation. We have to tackle not only the illegal trafficking but also the illegal jobs at the end of the journey. Introducing biometric ID cards, starting with newly arrived foreign nationals, will make it easier to ensure fair access to services and stamp out fraud and abuse.

“Today’s strategy outlines how we plan to tackle those who commit the most serious harm first, by developing local partnerships allowing IND to respond to the individual needs of communities.

“We will also make it easier to obey the rules through enhanced checking services for employers and the introduction of a new system for managing migration requiring sponsors to support applications.

“This new approach will make life in this country ever more uncomfortable and constrained for those who come here illegally.”

there you go, it's referring to enforcement of the rules, nothing to do with the completely separate txt message reminder service. Guess your name is accurate :p

Well you've lost me there:confused:

Visage asked:- "Isnt the suggestion that its there to help people who inadvertantly overstay their visa?" to which I replied; "No" citing Reid's statement that it is all about those who remain ilegally and not those who just overstay their visa.

You then talk about landlords getting fined, I can't see any reference to landlords so no idea where that came from?

exactly. You are using information that is completely irrelevant to the issue of the text messages, that quote was in response to a completely separate question!
