I think if you still really love to game still, the only difference aside from maybe slightly poorer reflexes with fps games is you can manage your time better (no more all nighters) I mean when you have to keep the OH happy and have bills to pay you have to show self control
I feel like I'm less attached to gaming than I might had been say 15 years ago.. I do love playing games when I have the time but if I don't have any I don't miss it as much
I'm probably a lot more cynnical / outspoken when it comes to poorly made games as well, I know what I like and what makes a genre work... far beyond the branded fanboy stuff
a lot of the gaming stuff I grew up with is sitting sealed and boxed in storage at the family home somewhere in the loft as I don't have room for it here... one day I'll probably dig it out to either flog or pass onto my own
