I'm 31 in three weeks....

31 the spectrum and c64 generation?

You were born in 1982 by my calculation that makes you about 2-3 years old when you were playing them. I'd be more inclined to call you the PS1 generation.
I was born in 1983 and I wouldn't call myself the playstation generation since that was when I was 10/11 I had a computer for 5/6 years at that point >.<

Master system II and NES would be the console from my actual childhood but my parents were mean I had a BBC micro in 1989 when I was 6 was the first computer I ever had

Daredevil Dennis What a game!

30 in 9 months and the missus tells me to go play games to get me out of the way xD

Been a PC gamer since 1992, many have tried to get me to quit, all have failed, even had one girlfriend threaten to leave me for it, but still with her, still playing my PC games. I’m 40 this year, been playing video games since Commodore 64 /Amiga then to the PC, enjoyed the late 1990’s early 2000’s then hit the consoles for a while, and now back to thoroughly enjoying the huge resurgence of PC gaming..

I’ll never quit my hobby and passion for PC gaming. I have since downsized a little to accommodate family, such as using a portable gaming laptop instead of a huge hulking triple screen PC gaming rig, but I will never give up. I’d rather play the latest game on a high powered laptop on the sofa then not at all, even at my age.

This is how much I love my hobby, and how much my existing girlfriend knew as when she walked out, I still played video games, and I’ve got a 14 month old daughter with her, she came back and realised I need to be happy, PC gaming makes my happy.

I never stop her going out, enjoying her life, so don’t worry about your age, enjoy your PC gaming, it’s a great hobby.

I only recently got back into gaming, and like iv-tecman, I see it as a hobby now. It keeps me happy. I don't see why it would be frowned upon when so many people spend much of their time watching Eastenders/Corrie and the like.

Agreed. Don't see why age has to come into it. Playing computer games is an interest/hobby just like watching films or reading a book and you don't tend to hear people saying anyone is too old to do that.

For me personally at 37 I don't 'game' anywhere near as much as I used to when I was younger but this is due to me having a child, girlfriend and a job and I simply don't have the time anymore..

I still have a blast on Football Manager whenever I get the chance but don't do all nighters on it like I used to back in the day!

just turned 31 and cant see my gaming habit going anywhere soon.

commodore plus 4 kicked it off, c64 and amiga really got me hooked.

I am 34, "Spectrum generation".

Still going.

We are the first generation who grew up with games as a choice in our home.

I'm 32. I think you mean the "C64 generation", naturally ;) We had a better sound chip, and our sprites were properly coloured :p

I'm 38 and am excitedly awaiting my new XBox controller to try out F1 2012 that i bought over the weekend.

Not exactly the avid gamer I was 10 years ago though. I find games don't hold my attention long any more and I just want something I can pick up for 30 mins then put down, rather that something I have to spend weeks learning.

I'd love to have the patience to play some RPG stuff but just don't have the patience to sit down and learn games any more. If there's more that 9-10 keys then forget it.

I'll be 42 in August. Brought up on Sinclairs and Commodore's. I remember hiring Atari 2600's from our local video store (back when one side of the shop was for Betamax and the other for VHS :D ). You could hire the console for a few quid a day and a couple of games. It was a weekend treat to spend your paper round money on. Trouble was the demand was so great you had to be there quick to beat the other kids from getting their hands on the consoles first!.

Getting older means more responsibility, climbing the career ladder at work and kids, usually. I do all of these (I'm a late starter with both my career advancement/promotion and also with kids - we have a 2 year old lad). But although it means you end up having to squeeze more stuff into a 24 hour day it still allows you sometimes to kick back and relax with a game or two. Although granted I've not taken part in any 24 hour online marathons like I used to do when in my clan days playing HL: Day of Defeat. ;)

I'm sure some of our senior members will be along to tell you they remember when the forums were all grass and no Muslims stole all the benefits :p

31 is hardly old, Playstation generation is it not?

31 is more like mega drive generation actually, well thats about the earliest i remember at 29 - windows 3.1/dos amiga/atari mega drive /snes a few friends had master systems - think my cousin had a spectrum or something else that used tapes, another friend had a real old dos machine with no windows, pc speaker and ega monitor, just about played monkey island but the screen scrolling was real slow, loading areas took forever but still we eventually got thru it with the help of my mates dad! lol.

42 this year and still cannot live without my gaming. I have a family but squeeze any free time I have into it.

Never got bored with it and never will.;)

Gaming has no age limit, in fact it has more ratings than limits!

Too many young children playing 18+ games for my liking.... Then when some 16 year old idiot shoots up his school they blame the games! "to much GTA for that child" - hang on....its an 18+ rated game - In fact, don't get me started on this.

You enjoy your gaming! 31 is nothing! I will be playing games when im 31 and WAY beyond.
