She has known since i first met them that i dont drink.

I didnt tell her, a friend of mine told her i dont drink so i dont see how i could come off arrogant there.

Ive had to put up with so much **** from her and other coz i dont drink and now she says im arrogant

Theres nothing wrong with not drinking, I don't. None of my friends make me feel bad about it though. Although my uni housemates tried pressuring me into drinking when I first met them, now they dont have a problem. If your friends are constantly trying to make you drink and guilt tripping you etc. I suggest you get new friends

I went to Magaluf with a lad who hardly drank and he was the most boring person I have ever met, he drank 4 night out of the 14, I wish I had never gone away with him, hes 20 and going to uni in Sept and I dont know how hes going to get any mates if he wont drink and sits in the corner like a boring ****.

If your not gonna drink its hard to do anything right in a club.

Not all tee totallers dont know how to have fun. I probably dance and muck aorund more than most of my drinking friends. It just costs me £5 instead of £30 :p

Me too...

Usually when I go out to the pubs/clubs etc, I'll be driving so it'll be LMAOnade all night, especially if my drunken friends do funny stuff.

But when the car is at home, I drink lager! :)

I don't understand how she sees you to be arrogant but the problem with not drinking while out is that you run the risk of being seen as unsociable. I don't drink to get drunk - I hate that - but I agree that moderated drink has its place as a great social lubricant.

i have generally found that those who drink the most are the ones who should be allowed to drink the least.

its become a social norm to get wasted and act a total prat when going out apparently. i dont buy into it. there is nothing wrong or arrogant with not drinking. there is something wrong with trying to pressure people and make them feel bad for not wanting to participate in drunken stupor.
That's what makes many tee-totallers sound arrogant, not the fact that they don't drink. Not everyone who enjoys drinking likes to get that drunk. I never go out with the intention of drinking myself into oblivion, and the few times I've slipped up and had too much I've always regretted it. Some people act like complete muppets when they're sober too.

ahahaha... this is funny... ever since i reformed myself and got a proper diet i have been giving my mother so much stick about the crap she eats... so funny to hear her say im as bad as an ex smoker or reformed alcoholic :p yep i can see why some might call you arrogant if you dont drink :p

Why is that so important??. Is alcohol really that important??. Perhaps he doesnt like the taste or doesnt like the after effects of drinking.

So tell me why is it so important for someone to drink alcohol??

Drinking is very important! People who dont drink just arent normal. Never trust someone who doesnt drink.

She obviously thinks you feel superior by not drinking and doesn't like it.

Anyway I can understand people who don't like to get really drunk, because I don't.

But I find it hard to understand why anyone wouldn't want one or two beers or a glass of wine now and again, to me it's one of lifes great pleasures.

well, i know a great number of people who go out for no other reason on the weekend to get totally sloshed. i know that not EVERYONE does it, but i dont think that you can deny that quite a large portion of those u see out on the weekend will be out to get HAMMERED. infact its all that some people talk about

("ohh mate u should have seen me saturdi night init, i was well wasted it was proper mint! i had 19 cans of stella before i went and look what i done, i stacked em all up on my window to show ya all!!!" )

so on and so forth!

personally i dont mind drinking but tend to reserve it for bottles of vodka and poker nights!
