I'd say you'll be fine with the Hiper. Every PSU manufacturer has some dodgy units that are faulty, recently I've seen two threads about faulty Seasonics and they seem to be the power supplies of choice on these forums. A while back there seemed to be loads of Enermax's blowing up, and there was also the whole Tagan ticking issue. I personally think the Hipers have an unfairly bad reputation. Mine's rock solid at the moment but I suppose I'll have to wait and see.
