I'm guessing this is normal

I was talking to some friends today and they told me their plans for friday night and how they want to get smashed.

I'm guessing this is typical behaviour of people in their late teens, but I told him that you don't need loads of alcohol to have a good night out, he and lots of other friends disagree with me.

Am I just too mature for my age, or do I have a point?

You are too old.
Pick up your pipe and slippers and leave the young ones to their fun :p

Yes & no.

Alcohol is fun, but fun can be had without as well.

I've been trying to drink less when I go out, in the hope of having less red of a face in photos. Alas, its not as fun

I don't think I have ever 'aimed' to get smashed. I can think of lots of things better than that. And I'm certainly no teetotalist.

I like getting car-parked ( sorry) with my mates. Cue girl entering vicinity of any of us (even when there's girls out with us). Hilarity ensues.

RICH IM LOOKING AT YOU! (a friend obviously, not RJK. Now that would be weird)

Sometimes getting smashed is fun, sometimes getting slightly fuzzy headed is fun :)

All depends on the night and the mood your in :)

Saying that recently i've been trying not to mix my drinks and stay a bit more sober than I normally would be, and it is still quite fun.

But when your in a big group (i.e Rugby lads) can't beat all getting wrecked and falling over :p

You don't need alcohol to have a good night, but it's normally more fun when you do ;)

Some people like drinking, some people don't and some people aim to get absolutely off their face.

I don't really like going out and getting smashed any more, mostly because I hate losing the next day to a hangover.

You don't have to drink, that's fine, but don't start preaching because that's how you lose friends :)

Hello, Hello. My names Terry and I'm a law abider
There's nothing I like more than getting fired up on beer
And when the weekends here I to exercise my right to get paralytic and fight
Good bloke fairly
But I get well leery when geezers look at me funny
Bounce 'em round like bunnies
I'm likely to cause mischief
Good clean grief you must believe and I ain't no thief.

Id dont get smashed that much really, the wasted next day with a hangover puts me off!

Yes i go out and yes i drink without counting pints but if i start to feel crap ill slow down or stop.

I can have a laugh with my mates without drinking so a few social pints is all i need.

Ha Sp00n I always think of that streets song when people are talking about going out to get absolutely smashed.

Used to always go out with the aim of getting smashed. Now it just tends to end up that way without aiming for it.

Ya, it's funny when people get preachy on bud when they are smashed off their face on alcohol. This is just an observation, not a dig at anyone, I know how things can be misinterpreted on here :x
